Choices are personal, but I share a strong bias to lighter interiors. Yet the launch options are singularly black...and the exterior colors skew towards dark. The final decisions on color choices must have come after some dark nights or moody blues.
I too live in New Mexico; firm in my desire for a Catalina Cove interior, dual color carbon wheels. My dreams for an R2 in 2026 have faded into a nightmare of unknowing.
Given Rivian's attention to detail, the color options for the R2 don't measure up. Other than the rather "standard" colors of White, Black, and Silver, the options are Half Moon (dark and dull), Forest Green (dark), Borealis (dark and for a select few) and the Launch Green (beautiful). But if...
With all the buildup and anticipation of the R2 launch, to offer only a black interior is a test of patience for those of us who want a light interior. Deep breaths and a longer cocktail hour.
Agreed, the variables of lighting and digital viewing make reading colors challenging. If what I see on the video was available, I'd take it in a heartbeat. I particularly love the wheels...but they don't seem to be an option. Does anyone know if they could be purchased as an extra?
I'm in agreement. I love Rivian as a company, but the R2 color choices have been highly disappointing. Where are some light color options besides white? No light blue/gray, sandstone, or a launch green that would be lighter gray/green.
We are in the fourth quarter with an anticipated R2 production startup in the new year...yet options/pricing have not been released and reservations are not being secured with deposits. If Rivian's future is dependent on hitting a production level of 40,000 R2's next year, why isn't marketing...
