  1. 20" Inch Looking for aggressive all terrain tire options

KO3s on mine - built like tanks - efficiency isn’t bad, run well on the freeway and I have a ton of confidence on the rocky places we take them. Only downside is that they run when pulled out of the garage on low clearance and making a hard turn to pull out onto the road.
  2. The OEM Jack: Good Enough or Risky?

One other important note - my OEM jack has the puck directly attached to the top of the scissors. This is a good thing because it reduces the slippage risk of the puck coming off the Jack. In fact I noticed after I got my rig down from the precarious position that it was in, that the top nipple...
  3. The OEM Jack: Good Enough or Risky?

I’ve had good luck with Les Schwab. Firestone is going to have to update that company policy if they want to stay in business over the long haul. I was same as you - but one episode of having to get hauled down the side of a mountain on a off-road vehicle flatbed towed by a small blazer to get...
  4. The OEM Jack: Good Enough or Risky?

The OEM jack does work and I do trust it…but probably the most scared I’ve been in my life was trying to get the tire back on as the R1S slid down the hill on said jack…it just kept leaning to the point that I had to dig out underneath the tire to have enough clearance to get it back on..so yeah...
  5. Rivian refused tire rotation for 22” 119S Michelins

Totally frustrating. I get it. So silly they refuse to do it - just making senseless excuses that doesn’t serve their customers well. Taking my R1S with KO3s in for alignment in the next two weeks - really hoping they don’t give me the runaround as Les Schwab identified that alignment was out...
  6. One year and 15k miles in, the R1S Max Pack Dual Motor as an Off-Roading Vehicle for a Family of Four

It was four things: 1. The durability/weight of the KO3 made them much less likely to puncture on the rough terrain - they are 119 vs 114 so much heavier carrying capacity and just more rubber. 2. Plenty of sidewall to air down vs the 22 3. Had noticed some side to side rear end slippage with...
  7. One year and 15k miles in, the R1S Max Pack Dual Motor as an Off-Roading Vehicle for a Family of Four

And yes, I have had my eye on the EV Sportsline Brushbar but they haven’t yet said they are won’t block sensors on the gen2, and I’m not sure the replacement tow hook is as strong as the oem - as I mentioned - I use that hook a lot for pulling trees.
  8. One year and 15k miles in, the R1S Max Pack Dual Motor as an Off-Roading Vehicle for a Family of Four

You have time for what you prioritize. :) We did 100+ summits this year - but that was every weekend, and every vacation we took. Including Mother’s Day and the day of our 25th wedding anniversary on which we did five summits(my wife’s choice). And really nothing else other than work and...
  9. One year and 15k miles in, the R1S Max Pack Dual Motor as an Off-Roading Vehicle for a Family of Four

They have one in Portland, OR and one in Vancouver, BC - but unfortunately that’s 2-3 hours away from the major population center (Seattle). We rented via Turo when we were evaluating - that was pricey but more convenient.
  10. One year and 15k miles in, the R1S Max Pack Dual Motor as an Off-Roading Vehicle for a Family of Four

Yeah, unfortunately Illinois Lemon Laws are significantly more favorable to the dealer than the Washington law. I would have qualified under Washington, but not Illinois.
  11. One year and 15k miles in, the R1S Max Pack Dual Motor as an Off-Roading Vehicle for a Family of Four

We tried the R1T for a month or so when our R1S was in the SC and the consensus from the whole family was it was just too small for us and all our gear. Love that it’s all accessible from the main cabin for getting dressed and the rear hatch door keeps us covered in the rain and snow...
  12. One year and 15k miles in, the R1S Max Pack Dual Motor as an Off-Roading Vehicle for a Family of Four

I considered the Hakkapellit as well, and probably would have gone that route on 22 inch rims if I just cared about winter driving. The main reason I went to 20 inch was more cushion on the suspension and the ability to air down more in off-road situations and a bit more margin for rim damage...
  13. One year and 15k miles in, the R1S Max Pack Dual Motor as an Off-Roading Vehicle for a Family of Four

After one year, and 15k miles since the purchase of our 2025 Gen2 R1S Dual Motor Max Pack (mid-December 2024) I thought I would provide a write-up on our experience. For background, we are a family of four with, two boys ages- 14 and 16. We are a tall family, I'm 6'4, my wife 6'0 and our 16 year...
  14. “Not One Single Percentage Point” of Degradation" - F150 Lightning charged to 100% every night

From my experience the website the OP cited - ā€˜Torque News’ has a lot of content that smells very much like AI Slop. Ie generated content vs human reported…so not sure how much faith I’d have in this story.
  15. Can anyone share their experience with installing a Rivian Compact Spare Kit at the Rivian SC

Trivial in the gen2 literally drive up to the sc - the guy walked out with it and dropped it in. Didnt need to remove or change anything on ours - he was kind of surprised but said they are always changing them and it looks like they no longer need the cutout removed.
  16. .46 Update killed charging (for me, seems to be a limited issue on some Gen2)

Like OP I have a Dec 24 gen2 max pack R1s with Tesla wall charger and Leviton adapter - usually runs at 11kw. After the update - now 5kw and I get a flash code that tells me the charger is limiting due to an overheat detected. Also oddly my charge port door doesn’t open from the outside swipe...
  17. Service park brake will not release and can't drive the truck

Got my R1S back last week after three trips to the service center to resolve the parking brake error - they had the vehicle for nine or so weeks in total. No - there is no way for you to clear it - it must be towed. They first replaced the parking brake unit and a 12v fuse, second time they...
