  1. Rivian Service policy - no alternative transportation unless vehicle kept for 48 hrs

I have never been offered a service visit while I wait I requested that on my first visit and it was ignored and they gave me a rental In fact my experience is the car often sits for several days before they even look at it and I am talking about some pretty minor adjustments. (and that is...
  2. 2023 G1 R1T - 2nd 12v Battery issue after 14.5 months.

While I agree the vehicle should not need to go to the service center for a 12 v battery replacement the fact that you are now doing it twice where other s go 2-4 years without needing a replacement seems to indicate theee is an underlying problem somehwhwre that is taking the battery out...
  3. Purchasing frustration

Weird post. I experienced no such problem when purchasing my 2026 R1S. Now in all honestly I was not configuring a very specific build. I picked one that had the options I wanted right out of their inventory and while the black was not not in inventory when I made my commitment one popped up...
  4. Purchasing frustration

I agree. Was one of my deciding factors when going to rivian. I’m not convinced my ford dealer would have done any better if trading in my expedition for a new expedition ( mostly because they know the warts on the 2019 model year)
  5. Spaces in KOP

I’m not sure they will be allowed to do test drives in KOP. I think there is something with Pa law because I asked about doing test drives out of the Malvern service center and it was a no go
  6. Spaces in KOP

Yes a few doors away from the Tesla space
  7. The unwanted first child (Gen 1) of a forgotten relationship?

I guess what I don’t know is if there were specific promises made to gen1 purchasers that led them to believe they would automatically be upgraded to latest technologies over the life of the vehicle. The general stance within the auto industry is you buy a snapshot based on the year you bought...
  8. Discovered new way to unlock! Tap phone on door handle

With Auto Unlock at home disabled I can just press the drivers side door handle lightly to unlock the doors without taking out my phone. I am not sure if that’s because I have an Apple Watch on ( although it is on my other hand and not near the door handle) or if UWB is allowing this. The whole...
  9. Wonky cabin lights when opening doors

Before the update I reported while the accent lights light the ceiling lights do not light when opening the door while the vehicle is asleep. You only experience this if your doors were unlocked while approaching and opening the door because it you have to unlock it then it wakes the car up...
  10. Digital Key, What are Your Impressions?

I still don’t understand all of the functionality I have unlock disabled at home. I have an iPhone and Apple Watch so I am not sure what is allowing this but when I go out to my vehicle in the driveway I slightly depress the drivers side handle with one finger the car unlocks. I don’t see...
  11. Video: R2 power liftgate closing on luggage filled cargo area (for Route 66 road trip)

I don’t know that button was capacitive as it feels like a rubber protected button. Regardless my frunk just opens by itself at different times and I have not been able to figure it out but now that button does not work at all. I can only open it from the screen inside or the app
  12. Purchasing advice - Gen 1 vs Gen 2

I think there were control arm suspension upgrades in gen 2 which may prove valuable on crappy streets
  13. Anti-EV agenda

While home charging is not a barrier in the suburbs where there are single family homes it is problematic in cities where row houses and sidewalks betweenntehbjousebajsbrhebcurbbmake running power difficult and that spot in front of your houses is not guaranteed for you.
  14. Anti-EV agenda

My opinion is it will only last until the administration changes to an EV friendly one only because the EV manufacturers are building their business plan assuming the rebates will be there. Their business plan needs to be built ignoring any potential incentives and if they are there it is icing...
  15. Some people's kids...

My only reply to you is right on! I agree with you 100%. I do wish Rivian was a little more communicative when issues are raised to try and separate real issues vs operator error as some of what is reported is self inflicted.
  16. Level 3 Charging 2025-2026 for Rivian R1S May Require a $300 "Accessory"

I believe at least the ccs to NACS adapters that is branded by Rivian is actually made by Tesla
  17. Level 3 Charging 2025-2026 for Rivian R1S May Require a $300 "Accessory"

it is my understanding the ccs adapters for NACS vehicles are also manufactured by Tesla so to that point yes if Tesla donated them to get people to use superchargers that makes sense. But it would also make sense for Rivian to provide the ccs adapters for NACS vehicles to entice them to use...
  18. Level 3 Charging 2025-2026 for Rivian R1S May Require a $300 "Accessory"

It is not because it is too hard to manage because when Rivian signed the agreement with Tesla they provided free of charge after the fact NACS adapters to all their ccs equipped vehicles. This is clearly a cost savings IMO
  19. Rivian software is (still) an embarrassment and needs to get better fast before R2

I feel u to our pain but disagree with your assessment have a 40 yr career in technology. I have quirks I live with every day between my Apple Watch, phone and accounts and can’t count the number of Times a Microsoft computer required a ctrl alt del. I am happy with my R1S and give this startup...
  20. Auto high beams with fog lights active

I don’t think the 2026 has front fog lights. They moved the turn signals from the big oval to those lights and made them sequential.
