  1. Do I really need the Max Pack?

It’s also what I was saying, so what were we debating? We’ll rule it a no contest.
  2. Do I really need the Max Pack?

This is actually the most reasonable thing you’ve ever said and glad you finally came around to my point of view. I agree with all of this 100% and just wish we avoided all the back and forth and you agreed with me from the start.
  3. Do you think new guide emails will go out today on another waive of LE holders?

It’s laughable to think that a company like Rivian would do something solely to appease a handful of forum trolls. The first round of guide calls are entirely for the benefit of Rivian to aid in their production planning, not to provide customers information. That’s why they won’t give exact...
  4. Do I really need the Max Pack?

Look, the point is that before this devolved into a pissing match, the question posed was how much range does one need. You asserted that one would see a 20%+ reduction to stated range on the Rivian when on long highway trips. Your assertion was based on the flawed assumption that the stated...
  5. Do I really need the Max Pack?

Any real analyst would first understand what they are looking at. This data is not the range loss due to speed. It’s stated range vs constant 70mph range.
  6. Do I really need the Max Pack?

I assure you I do, and I also assure you neither is what I’m talking about in this case. This has nothing to do with statistics or scientific testing. That’s not the exercise. As of now, the data supports my argument, and until disproven with contradicting data it remains true. If we want to...
  7. Do I really need the Max Pack?

The 95% was a joke, because it doesn’t need to be a statistical exercise. Repeating the test once as they did is enough to give me a very high degree of confidence in this instance that their findings would more or less be true. It’s a machine and when you control for variables you will get the...
  8. Do I really need the Max Pack?

This isn’t a science experiment. I’m well versed in the dark arts of statistics. Mass produced vehicles are standardized so you don’t need a thousand tests of the same vehicle to see how it performs. Sometimes you just have to accept the 95% confidence interval and move on. It is a completely...
  9. Do I really need the Max Pack?

Link works. Until more robust data is provided, I’m right and you’re wrong.
  10. Do I really need the Max Pack?

I provided the link (fixed the url, which wasn’t working previously), so the information is all there. It’s as good of a non biased test as there is, all vehicles driving the same track at same speed. The notion of highway range being far lower than stated range is purely a result of Tesla...
  11. What will we learn 5/31 - 6/6

You’re right, just trying to spice things up on a slow day. I’m a January 2020 preorder, by the way, so I expect I’ll get my R1S soon. I told them I don’t need no stinking guide, I know how cars work. Just drop it in the driveway when it’s ready and let me know if you need the gate code.
  12. What will we learn 5/31 - 6/6

I actually just had my guide call and I am scheduled for delivery in mid July after I finalize my order tomorrow (order system goes live then). Super pumped.
  13. Potential Change to $7,500 EV Tax Credit

Maybe it’s just me, but I think this has a snow ball’s chance in hell of passing as it would need Republican support in the senate. Regardless, there is only a very small chance that someone has to make a final purchase decision without the facts. That possibility would be someone finalizing an...
  14. Do I really need the Max Pack?

Don’t know that I’ve seen for sure, but I’d sure expect heat pump at that price level.
  15. Do I really need the Max Pack?

That’s just the very inefficient systems in those cars. those with a proper heat pump system is much less. Running AC only drops my range a few miles, or like 1%.
  16. Do I really need the Max Pack?

Everyone has their own experience, and mine is that rain doesn’t make a 20% plus impact on range, it’s much smaller. Rivian’s estimate actually has nothing to do with EPA that we know of actually. And even if it does, my experience is that I get close to EPA range on the highway in my e tron...
  17. Do I really need the Max Pack?

That’s really excessive for the rain hit. maybe 5% is more accurate unless you’re talking about standing water on the roads type of rain. Also, there is no reason to believe yet that the highway range won’t be close to the 300/400 target. It would be the exception rather than rule if it doesn’t.
  18. Began your Rivian Guide process? Please consider sharing some info.

Sometimes it’s much more simple. The motivation for someone to come and post about their guide contact and how it was identical to all the others is very low. It’s actually a waste of time. Understandable why the first few did, but I wouldn’t expect anyone else to come share a bunch of nothing.
  19. Do I really need the Max Pack?

That’s not necessarily the case. If you’re saying that because of battery health reasons, infrequent long trips and charging to 100% is not a problem. If you’re saying that because of charging curve and it being slower to charge the last 20%, well that’s just a matter of preference and may or...
