  1. R2 buyers - will you wait for gen 3 hardware (including LiDAR)?

#4 - you have a legacy vehicle mindset. Rivian vehicles (and Tesla) are subscription based tech platforms with wheels; like a smartphone. So yes, we all have expectations and Rivian does have obligations to make it better over time. Or, like a smartphone, we will dump Windows mobile for iPhone.
  2. R2 buyers - will you wait for gen 3 hardware (including LiDAR)?

I waited for Gen2 (2025) to get the latest and greatest hardware. If they can’t provide L3 in R1 Gen2 because of lack of LiDAR, and it’s only available on Gen3 (2026), I will be sad. 1 year between generations in HW that blocks a major feature feels like a fail, especially if they move the R1...
  3. R2 buyers - will you wait for gen 3 hardware (including LiDAR)?

    As a 2025 R1 Gen 2 owner, I feel cheated.
  4. Cold Weather Level 2 Charging Issue - being resolved in next Update

I got the same email. I reported this issue to Rivian after a 1AM troubleshooting session on why my 2025 R1T wouldn’t charge overnight (17 F ambient).
  5. Music and media system questions / issues

SiriusXM periodic and unprompted track restart and/or skip ahead to the next track… this is a unique issue to SiriusXM in Rivian. They decided to not use a satellite antenna on this vehicle, so there is no SiriusXM radio in the vehicle; only an app. As a result, there is also no way to transfer...
  6. Sterling Service Center Update

Any guess or other info on when the Sterling service center will open?
  7. New map a settings?

How is it fixed? Mine still zooms in so far the rest of the roads disappear. It is distracting and dangerous when using this navigation system.
  8. 2025.22 Update - Official Release Notes (Now With Google Maps Navigation)

No. It’s horrible. That was the correct word. I will just continue to use my phone for navigation which is safer than trying to follow a Rivian map that zooms so far in that you can no longer see where you need to be going.
  9. 2025.22 Update - Official Release Notes (Now With Google Maps Navigation)

Google Maps is great. Rivian auto-zoom layered on top is horrible. The system still automatically zooms in during an interchange, so far that you can’t see the map at the most critical time. Still a horrible experience and still leaving me to desire Apple CarPlay so I can use native Google...
  10. Navigation Zoom Preferences (2025.14)

The title is Navigation Zoom Preferences… as in there are none. There continues to be no way a user can prevent the navigation system from automatically zooming in, which always seems to occur at precisely the wrong time. This is usually at an interchange when I need to see the next turn that...
