  1. How about free MaxPack Upgrades for LEs?!

No one said Doug had a "source." He just (very quickly) expresses his view that Rivian won't be delivering in 2021. Naturally, you're free to judge others' opinions as you wish, and you'll very likely know for sure in three days or so . . . if Rivian resumes communications.
  2. How about free MaxPack Upgrades for LEs?!

And don't just take your fellow forum-members' word for it. Doug DeMuro kissed-off Rivian's June 2021 date 5/21: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=doug+demuro+f150+lightning+2022+review
  3. What will we learn 5/24 - 5/30?

Yep. Was going to write the same thing. Put on your Operations hat for a moment. It's no secret that there are several supply constraints right now: chips/batteries. So, if you're Rivian and you KNOW you can't ship product in any meaningful volume for perhaps another six months, and surprise...
  4. How about free MaxPack Upgrades for LEs?!

Yes. Besides all the beautiful in-fighting on the forum, just consider for a moment the level of tone-deafness it takes for the CEO to post, "Hey, I've got an R1T. What about you guys?" and nothing else for weeks on-end. Makes the atmosphere around Rivian feel a little more musky, doesn't it...
  5. What will we learn 5/24 - 5/30?

And this is also old news, from last autumn. In the meantime, Rivian has repeatedly confirmed the June 2021 start of deliveries, and then blackout. GIdeon apparently wrecked it on that Texas to So. Cal. roadtrip while tweeting "More to come next week!" -- There's a lesson here for us all . . .
  6. What will we learn 5/24 - 5/30?

Too easy: Cars also don't announce (i) May 2021 Guide contacts and (ii) June 2021 vehicle deliveries. But you go ahead and suggest that folks' expectations of visibility into their supposedly impending $80k truck purchases are unwarranted, if that makes you feel better. Also, see GaryL's post...
  7. How about free MaxPack Upgrades for LEs?!

Well, since Rivian is simply stomping customer goodwill, how about a fun little thread about what it will take to get it back?
  8. Anyone hear from their Rivian Guide?

I'd put it like this: Late game stealth mode is a shot to one foot. Now, it's just a matter of whether they shoot the other foot, or bandage the first.
  9. Ford 'Lightning' affordable BEV truck trims

Yes. Yes. And Yes. The closer F150L production gets to Rivian's actual production, the more appealing the F150L becomes. 300-mile XLT at ~$60k looks great. Why? It's a truck, +1ft bed, frunk = better design/access/utility, power the home, and finally -- don't need: huge screen, auto-drive, fancy...
  10. Who has a LE

    Couldn't agree more.
  11. What if my cat falls asleep in the gear tunnel?

The bi-directional Tunnel Tarp is a great idea. To correct my original write-up, Rivian mentions, "slushy snowboards and sandy beach blankets," but we get the idea. . . Looking again at the picture [https://stories.rivian.com/sizing-up-the-r1t] the panel/seat for the GT is huge and of course...
  12. What if my cat falls asleep in the gear tunnel?

The responses here have been the best I've seen on any forum. Much appreciated to all. The storage design choices between R1T and F150L have really got me wondering, but I don't want to be thread hog. It's likely inevitable (if/when trucks are delivered) that we will see threads titled, "What...
  13. F150 Lightning Guides Are Reaching Out (in week 1 following reveal).

Well, while Rivian has left this forum to name games (vanity plates), Guides from Ford are contacting F150 Lightning reservation holders (no, finalizing configuration is not available, but real identifiable people are making contact). The contrast between incumbent and start-up could not be any...
  14. What will we learn on Thursday? A Predictions Thread...

Right there with you and SeaGeo . . . that's why I have an I-Pace. It's my interim EV while I wait for a truck (to replace current I-Pace/CX-9 combo). Frankly, Mach-E has always struck me as a re-skinned I-Pace; which is just fine, if true . . . the I-Pace is a great driving experience. So, I...
  15. What if my cat falls asleep in the gear tunnel?

Late thanks to you and Electruck -- I wasn't aware the gear shuttle was an actual thing. -- Editing to confirm: no way $1,500 for a sliding tray. I'll take Riviot's GTPP. The cat will move.
  16. What will we learn on Thursday? A Predictions Thread...

No surprise, I completely agree. Afterall, this is the sole point on which we will be relying on delivery/service, etc. Pre-delivery stealth mode is not confidence inducing. For folks who were looking for Rivian to be a "normal/stable/predictable" alternative to Tesla, this game of hide n seek...
  17. What will we learn on Thursday? A Predictions Thread...

I'll just offer that LE reservation holders have no better visibility at this point . . . which is why we are losing our sh*t. Gideon has stopped taking our calls. (Now I'm going to try to stop posting.) Good luck!
  18. What will we learn on Thursday? A Predictions Thread...

I'll just offer two data points and a little commentary: 1. Ford (already) sells ~900,000 F150s annually. 2. Consider the amount of marketing by each of Ford and Rivian, just in the past 21 days, and the eyeballs on that marketing (part of the reason we are viewing this thread instead of...
  19. What will we learn on Thursday? A Predictions Thread...

Hmmm. I've been wondering the same thing, but the limited pricing reveals so far suggest that pricing for similarly equipped 300-mile Lariat will be very close to base 300-mile R1T (e.g., $53k XLT + extended battery likely ~ $60k, so bump Lariat another $7K and bingo). And the way Rivian appears...
  20. What will we learn on Thursday? A Predictions Thread...

Or hugely disappointing holiday delay announcement . . . while folks are away . . . Hope not, but that's the other potential play.
