  1. Mobile Service in Remote Locations

I use the word ā€œremoteā€ loosely. But does anyone know what the plan is for people who are hours away from the service centres? Iā€™m in central BC and approximately 8 hours from the nearest SC. It sounds like anyone can take delivery now if we want but Iā€™m curious how long someone would...
  2. Vancouver Open House (Nov 19/20)

Most things Iā€™ve heard make it sound like thereā€™s plenty of headroom but I get burned by lots of vehicles so Iā€™ll need to try it myself.
  3. Vancouver Open House (Nov 19/20)

As a tall guy thatā€™s more worried about upper body space, how about headroom?
  4. Canadian delivery timeframe

So this is good news... but unless somebody knows something I don't, it doesn't appear there's any infrastructure in Canada to support getting deliveries started (ie. service centres).
  5. Canadian delivery timeframe

Unfortunately, for those of us in the community here, this shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. Furthermore, as mentioned above... the lack of information going forward shouldn't be a surprise to us either. Disappointed nonetheless.
  6. “Fast Charger” Speeds

PG specifically. But it seems like any BC Hydro chargers along the Yellowhead (or going south on 97) would be 50 kWh. A bit of a hard pill to swallow.
  7. “Fast Charger” Speeds

I may be taking a job in northern BC and wanted to see how road trips would fare up there. BC Hydro seems to have a huge network of Level 3 chargers throughout the province, but upon closer inspection, theyā€™re only rated at 50 kWh. Is this fairly standard in BC and Canada? At 50 kWh itā€™ll add...
  8. MTB Tailgate Pad

If anyone has more pics of the pads, or even a video showing the "issues" when the tailgate opens/closes, that would be appreciated!
  9. Canadian EV incentives/pricing/taxes

Update: https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/government-expanding-electric-vehicle-rebate-1.6427488 Looks like weā€™re [still] out of luck. Too badā€¦
  10. Canadian EV incentives/pricing/taxes

Still wouldnā€™t expect anything over 5k, but itā€™s better than nothing. They still might not raise the bar high enough (especially with the post Mar 1 pricing) but weā€™ll see.
  11. Canadian EV incentives/pricing/taxes

In light of the new federal climate plan, I hear the next budget (due later this spring) will have a reworked EV incentive program that is designed to include more expensive vehicles (read: SUVs and trucks). Should be interesting to see if the Rivians will be eligible.
  12. Ask us Rivian R1T owners ANYTHING [AMA]!

    Seems pretty decent to me?
  13. Ask us Rivian R1T owners ANYTHING [AMA]!

I feel like I'm beating a dead horse here but I've still never seen a good answer to this question... how far is this truck going to go in conserve mode cruising at highway speeds? Obviously there are tons of variables but if someone wants to go for a drive (especially in winter temps on 20's)...
  14. R1T and Mountain Biking

Is it going to be possible to use a traditional tailgate pad with the R1T? I ask because it has that different "flap"/"extender" on the interior side of the tailgate that would cover the seam where the pad straps would wrap about? (If that makes sense?)
  15. Et tu, RJ?

Well said. I think this captured a bit of my frustration too. They targeted the Subaru crowd but priced it like a Bentley. Obviously it was going to cost more than the former, but I think people were prepared to go to that price point. They've seemingly crossed some invisible line where the...
  16. R1T & R1S Updated Pricing, Configuration, Specs. Dual Motor Now Available

Cancelled immediately after I got the email today. This was always a very expensive vehicle but it was my proverbial dream car and a company I wanted to support because I believed in their vision. Unfortunately I just canā€™t afford the vehicle at this point. Hope the company still succeeds but...
  17. Vehicle Life Expectancy

https://insideevs.com/news/525820/tesla-battery-capacity-retention-90/ For what itā€™s worth, this article shows Tesla batteries hold, on average, 90% after 200,000 miles, so Iā€™d assume Rivian would be largely the sameā€¦
  18. Vehicle Life Expectancy

Depends who you ask I guess. I know which one I'd want if I was planning on keeping this vehicle for a decade or longer though...
  19. Vehicle Life Expectancy

I realize that this is purely speculative, but I'm curious to know everyone's thoughts on what the average life expectancy will be for a Rivian. I guess I look at this from a couple different angles: - How long will the vehicle's electric drivetrain (especially the battery) last if it is...
  20. Warranty coverage - battery, compressor, seats, center console, armrest, etc...?

Iā€™m glad to hear that. I just remember watching one of the many reviews videos that came out recently that said it was motorized.
