Jeebus, I'll bet the "monetize everything" lobby just got a bad case of Restless Leg Syndrome.
Rivian: Just a legislative proposal. Get ahead of the law. Just give us an AM/FM radio and call it a day.
For: Free Access to Listener supported, local radio; addicted to it for news and music!
Against: Hedge fund, private equity owned, monetized radio access (I never knowingly purchased anything I've ever heard about on the radio)
"No R2 radios" is not sound cost or engineering based decision-making . Vehicle ownership basics are just being monetized at every turn possible. Hence subscription services. And that roils me up.
Most of this discussion is about entertainment. Some of us are information junkies so...
Couldn't agree more. The air waves were public as any kid with a wire, crystal set and a box spring mattress could attest.
Now grabbing public air waves, packaging them with other programs I have little or no interest in, and then charging a fee is considered progress. (Oh, I know, I know...
I hope I'm reading this wrong: I won't be able to just turn on the radio and listen to my public radio stations without going through some third party app? I'm already paying a "fee". (donation) every month to access public access.
What am I supposed to do: find a 1950's whip antenna to...
Wow! Give these "Prime" drivers a wide berth; worst driver corp I've ever seen. This van has already shed its rear wheel skirt and dislodged the rub rail panels.
If someone has a picture of an Amazon vehicle WITHOUT body damage, take a quick pic.
Just got an e-mail from BMW announcing the iX3.
Looks like BMW is aiming right directly at the R2.....or maybe Rivian is aiming at BMW. "Who's on first; What's on second" as Abbot & Costello used to say.
TY. I think the standard iX3 wheel in Europe is 19," but it will be another month or so before BMW has released a North America configurator. I'm still not clear which generally nets more miles per revolution, small or larger diameter wheels .
(I've watched that YouTube video where a math...
Thank you T-Bob: The charts have moved my decision-making needle. I am on-highway only efficiency nerd having driven diesel powered cars for decades.
Since nuns held me back in summer school for my arithmetic class performance years ago, could you run the BMW data again with 19" wheels, AS...
I'm not an inherently negative person, but when I looked at the photos where there were actual workers, I got sympathy pains from looking at bent-over, crouching, and other potential Worker Comp claims. How about stools with wheels? How about a rest bar when the production line stops. Truth...
