Since you have a Rivian and a Tesla, I am curious how well you felt the Rivian navigated to the Tesla chargers. Did it navigate you to only Tesla chargers that allow Rivians? Did it give you options for other types of chargers? Was it accurate in telling you about out of order chargers?

My email says "In June, you'll see an estimated time to order". Is anybody's earlier or later than that?

It is not just Lidar. It is entirely conceivable that there will be other differences, as yet unknown, between the gen2 and gen 3 software. Why would anyone buy a car that has obsolete software on day 1?

I totally agree about the SC issue. I live in NM and we have no SC. Rivian seems to be falling behind their own feet right now. I was waiting for the R2 but I am leaning heavily toward a 2 year lease on a different car to see if Rivian can actually pull this off.

Other than autonomy features, might there be other reasons to wait for gen 3?

Not really interested in autonomy but at the same time I don't want to buy a vehicle whose hardware is obsolete on day one. This whole development really makes me question if Rivian has their act together. Pending new info, at this point, if I can lease an early one for two years, I will. If...

The Lidar will come out on the gen 3 hardware at the end of 2026. So, launch and early R2s are already obsolete. DOA.

This was on I-40 west near Flagstaff. It was fun to see. Looking forward to seeing a truckload of R2s!

I hope all New Mexicans will advocate for a NM service center. I am on the list for an R2 and will feel a lot better about it if I don't need to drive or get towed to Arizona or Colorado for a repair that the mobile service can't handle.

I am curious if those of you in the know feel that China threatening to restrict rare earth imports to the US is likely to affect Rivian production or upend the R2 time line?

That's the optimistic view I was looking for. I hope you are right!

Hi everyone. Bill here. I have a 2013 Leaf, my wife has a 2021 LR AWD MY. I have been on the list for an R2 since 3/7/24. I am hoping my Leaf can last until the R2 is available to me. I live in NM and we need a Rivian service center! Thanks for this community.

Did anyone notice that in RJs recent interview he said the R2 would be coming out in "early 2026". That sounds way better to me than the first half of 2026. 😂
