In the spirit of speculation, doesn’t it feel like they are trying to clear out existing inventory with the current leasing offers, electric upgrade offer, and recent drop in leasing price for the R1S?
I’m guessing that there may be new manufacturing processes for the quad motor and...
Back in the day, while Tesla was building their "refreshed" long range and plaid variants, we had a thread on another forum that brought the level of speculation to insane levels. Dudes flew drones over parking lots to see evidence of activity at the factory in Fremont!
I am really glad those...
Point is well taken, but I would hope by now that anything "new" from Rivian would benefit from the years of experience they already have. New from an immature company is risky. New from a company who has navigated a bumpy road already (hopefully) would be a bit less risky.
If you look at the "explore" area of the Quad on the Rivian website, there is a titled "Customizable tuning". If you hover over it, you get a few details. Any idea what the term "pedal map" refers to? Is this feature unique to the Quad or is it something you get on existing models?
I am also in line for a quad - not so much for the power, but for some other potential features we don’t know about. Are there any good threads that speculate on this (like a running board option)? If not, shall we indulge here?!?!
Good stuff. I was so damn wordy on my review, that I didn’t go into as much detail as I could have. I actually kind of like the yoke at this point, but don’t like the horn situation. While I do like the auto present and auto close doors, I agree with you. I also feel like I fight with them a...
The support here has been awesome. This is a great community of car drivers. I have really enjoyed my time here and my time with my Rivian. That said, I made the difficult decision to bail on my R1T and go back to my Model X Plaid.
I suspect there is a very small subset of people that are...
I mostly agree. I think if you are going from another truck to a Rivian, the R1T performs really well. In most surfaces, I think it’s smooth and fun to drive. But, in some situations, there’s a fair amount of bump and roll, in my opinion.
I am somewhat surprised to hear a lot of people say that they R1T drives better than their model X. I was in my model X plaid for about six months, and there’s no question that in my opinion, it drove much quicker, more nimble, and smoother than the R1T. Not that the R1T is not amazing for its...
Update for those interested: drive mode makes a huge difference. Been driving around and all purpose and even a little bit of snow mode and the car is flat out fun to drive.
I am still curious how other tires/wheels would make a difference, and may invest in something different in the future...
As the OP, I will tell you I do not think there are issues with it feeling “loose and clunky“. Obviously, the easiest way to get answers for myself, without hassling everyone here, would be for me to drive the vehicle in various driving modes. The reason I started this thread was because I was...
This is great feedback. I am torn. I am still in my 7 day window. It would be way easier to part ways now than later. On one hand, I can test the AP/Soft setting to see if I like it. But, what I am trying to avoid is a scenario in which I decide it's close to likable and I therefore wait for it...
Appreciate your feedback. I actually had it in Sport/Soft when I noticed the harsh bumps. That said, I suspect All-Purpose would have been smoother on the same driving surface. I haven't the car long enough to really make a lot of comparisons, which is why I am here asking around.
In any case...
Hey, @Goose, for someone who is not totally up to date on this forum, can you give me some context to your comment? Are you in agreement with the ride quality issues I cited? BTW, there is absolutely no reason for anyone to bash anyone else in forums like this. We are all pretty fortunate to...
