Affordable high efficiency 20" wheels and 33" tires options (275/60R20)

You are correct sir. On the TireRack site there are 2 Pirelli Scorprian 275/65-R20 tires. The Rivian version is max of 51 PSI. Thank you!

Affordable high efficiency 20" wheels and 33" tires options (275/60R20)

I recently switched from the Pirelli stock 20" (275-65-R20) to Michelin Defender M/S 2 (275-60-R20). The Michelin's have a max PSI of 50 versus 80 max on the Pirelli. If I fill to recommended 48 PSI, they end up over 50 after some driving. Do I need to be concerned?

Did RJ just say we get access to the Tesla network at the end of this month on the R2 reveal?

We're all assuming Rivian has to actually pay for the cost of the adaptor sent to us. Do we know that for sure? Couldn't a compelling business case be made that Tesla would cover some (all?) of the costs - so they can make more money on the margin of electricity to non-tesla vehicle owners...

R3 showing instrument cluster with full screen front camera view!

Love the interior seat color. So wishing that had been an option on R1. We will see if it's ultimately offered.

    R2 Reveal Livestream Watch Party - March 7 @ 10 am PST!! -- NOW!! 😳 👀

Surprised in 17 pages of posts here, no one mentioned the "lie flat" FRONT seats in the R2. Even mentioned a blow-up mattress they might provide. So on brand and smart! Has anyone done that before?

Does the R2 actually kill Rivian?

I wondered the same thing. But then realized, these guys are auto experts. They must be aware of this risk and decided to move forward - for good reasons I'm sure. It may 'freeze out' some prospective R1 buyers, but the read they get on R2 demand - and the importance that has on their balance...

    20" tire recommendations

Thank you @Discount Tire , you guys are awesome. That store is great and I've had all of my cars' tire needs serviced there - alway happy. I'm sure this is just an outlier. My reason for posting here wasn't to complain with the store, but rather to help me get to complete understanding of...

    20" tire recommendations

Thank you. Yes, near sea level. But taking a trip soon driving down I-5 (west coast) - higher elevations and warmer. I'll stick with 48 for now. PS I assume all these #'s represent pressure at 'cold' temperatures. That correct?

    20" tire recommendations

Hey @ksurfier, you seem to have a fair amount of knowledge of tires and pressure. I on the other hand know nothing (other than what I'm learning here)... I just had a wierd experience at Discount Tire. swapped my OEM 20" Perelli's out for Michellin 275-60-R20 Defender M/S 2 tires. Inside the...

Affordable high efficiency 20" wheels and 33" tires options (275/60R20)

Can someone confirm for me a question about R1S spare tire? I'm planning on putting on 275-60-R20 tires soon. In an emergency, would it be ok to use the spare tire supplied with the R1S (presumably the OEM size of 275-65-R20)? How many miles could I travel on such tire (thinking if I'm far...

    20" tire recommendations

Really attracted to idea of alternate AS tires for 20" wheel. I am NOT tire knowledgable, so i'm checking my understanding after reading all of these posts. Seems to me higher range will most likely come by going to to a non-standard 275-60-R20 (vs OEM 275-65-R20). Doing that potentially...

What Does Tire Warranty Actually Mean?

Thank you all! If I install a non-OEM size tire (say the 275/60-R20 that many are going with) on my R1S (EOM size = 275/65-R20), does that mean i have NO chance of claiming any warranty credit? Also, is it likely a 70,000 mile warranty tire is going to last that long on one of these heavy beasts?

What Does Tire Warranty Actually Mean?

So, I've read (what feels like) hundreds of posts on tires for our heavy beasts. I'm going to be switching from the EOM Pirelli 20" tires (275 65-R20) eventually, and I've been wondering what to go to. Among all the posts, there mentions here and there of a particular tires warranty. 70,000...

    20" tire recommendations

Thanks for this. The "Defender LTX" - is that the LTX Platinum, LTX M/S 2, or LTX A/T 2 that you're referencing? Looks like the pricing of the M/S 2. I'm wondering about the Michelin Defender LTX A/T 2 275 60-R20 (116H / XL). Anyone opt for those? Efficiency results?

    20" tire recommendations

Hey @Mtbaddict, thanks for this comparison. I'm looking to switch from my OEM 20" Pirelli's soon. From what I can find online (Tire Rack) I states the Defender LTX M/S 2's only have a 7.8" tread width (86% of OEM tires). Any issues from your experience with traction on wet pavment?

    Ford quality problems

Saying you regret not focusing on fixing quality issues sooner is a big deal for any current CEO. Actually fixing them, is MUCH harder. Requires new approach to engineering and design, as well as employee relations and operational models. It aint easy, especially for a company the size and...
