We use the Rivian Cargo Crossbars to transport for our SUP almost weekly. Just place your paddleboard behind the rear crossbar, close the tailgate and your good to go. This image below is somewhat distorted.
Our 2023 R1T, Dual Performance has ALWAYS experienced some level of torque steer! It can be reduced with alignment, but it is always there under heavy acceleration., with All-Purpose mode.
All-purpose mode is initially basically front wheel drive. Rivian SC has confirmed this twice.
Sorry to have taken so long, we didn't make it home until Saturday!
Let me know what days, times and place might work this week for you. My Thursday, mid-day would work for mem but other might work as well! Email might work best for communication.
Thanks
I'll buy it! I can pick it up whereever you would like as I live in Oregon City. We are currently in Yellowstone and won,t be back until after 10/25. timothyskillen@gmail,com
We pull a 2017 27FB Airstream Flying Cloud for most of our shorter trips. We still use our Ford F150 for longer trips (500+ plus miles) Our 2023 Rivian R1T, Dual/Performance., Max pulls better that anything that I have ever driven. The range when towing for us runs 170-230 miles. That is...
For what it's worth, we tow a 27FB Airstream (7600 lbs.) and run 1.3-1.6 miles/kWh. With our Ford F150 and a 5.0 V8, we get around 11 mpg. Thus, comparing cost of electricity at level 3 chargers (at 36 cents/kWh) and gasoline ($4.20/gallon, in Oregon) the R1T is still less expensive (by...
Yes, it is an issue. My 8 months old R1T failed in our garage on our L2 charger, 3 weeks. It was still drivable but was towed in by Rivian to the Portland SC anyway. They said that they did replace with a new designed lithium battery.
Love the truck.
I can't believe all the whining I read in the "Forum" from people who buy 70-100K+ EV then complain over a couple of hundred-dollar purchase.
Rivian is an American startup that remains committed to it's customers. Rivian is far off from being PROFITABLE. Please let's just give them a break...
We too were with Liberty Mutual for 8 years. Last year when we bought our 2023 Tesla Model S the insurance was more than our other 3 vehicles combined. In June we purchased our new 2023 Rivian R1T (Dual performance with max battery so about the same HP). We kept with Liberty Mutual for 4...
We have a 2023 Tesla Model S (22,000 miles) that we love but typically get an average of 80% of the range of 405 miles.
We also have a 2023 R1T that we got new in June 2024, with Max Pack, and Performance Duals which we also love (even more than the Tesla). The Rivian is much closer to the...
After more than 3 months since delivery of our R1T, Performance Duals, Max we took it into the Portland Service Center. The Torque Steer issue that we were experiencing has almost away with a full alignment. It must have arrived grossly out of alignment.
The service center was great to...
I would guess that due to the weight of your 30, you'd be upto 5-10% worst than our 27fb
Trailer friendly charging is an issue. So far all of the Rivian charger are 100% trailer friendly for atleast one charger. Tesla supercharger are usually trailer compatible for one charger. We have a...
We have a 2017 27fb Flying Cloud. (load at 7500lbs). Our Rivian is a 2023 R1T with the Performance Duals, and Max Pach (410mi). which we purchased in June 2024 to see if we could live with the range issues. We want to go 100% electric... Love the Rivian so for, still deciding on the range...
It may have gotten worse since the upgrade. It does go away with the sport mode. Otherwise, the way it is now, it reminds me of a 1989 Ford Taurus that I had which had the worst torque steer that I have ever driven. It may be unique to the performance duals, since I can't believe that...
