Mine were not latched in any way. The metal U's you circled just sat in the white plastic sockets. No unlatching required. The seat bottom just rotated out once I got the seatbelt free.
The drawers were designed to interfere as little as possible with the 2nd row of seating and to allow my 2 dog crates on the top of the deck. And remember the name of this thread - I removed the 3rd row of seats to give me a few extra inches; our design would not fit with the 3rd row seat...
Hmm, I don't remember that being the case, but I'll look when it's back from SC.
BTW - SC had to get to some part of the radio that was under my drawer. They are charging me for time to remove and re-install my set-up <sigh I knew that about rock sliders, but never considered them having to...
Another update on the 3rd row seat removal:
Because I disconnected the seat and seatbelt wiring, the car's sensors report that there is someone sitting in the 3rd row. Nice thing about that is that when my AC is on "auto" it automagically sends air to the 3rd row (cooling, but no warming). And...
Wifi HotSpot does stay on if in camp mode, you toggle managed energy to stay on.
But I think @JM. is right - take the Riv out of it completely and get a 3rd party device with it's own cell / data connection.
Sorry to have caused all the confusion!
Yep - I realized that later, but can't figure how to edit the title.
I was trying to connect the temp monitor via the car's hotspot (and I am a connect+ subscriber.) According to Rivian Support, it will not communicate to a 2.4GHz device (but they also told me it was only "5G".)
I could get...
A main reason I bought the Riv for its off road abilities and Pet Mode. I do love it (in theory), but I don't trust it.
I have had some experiences where the interior temp my app reads and the actual interior of the car are dramatically different. That made me nervous. But the last straw was...
Anyone know of a temp monitor (with a phone app / alarms) that will work in connect +'s 5G? Most seem to run on 2.4GhZ only.
(I am done trusting the Riv's internal temp and Pet Mode. Until it's more reliable, I want a back-up temp monitor for dogs in the car.)
@Zoidz no need to get snarky. Thank you for the pointer to the info.
I am trying to get 3rd row air cooling and heating.
Also, I have removed the seats and seatbelts in the 3rd row, so it seems "auto" climate setting will not work for me.
So, I am still looking for a creative solution.
I *just* discovered the 2nd row floor and center console vents control separately. Thx for the info!
Would be very interested in where the 3rd row intakes are, if anyone knows.
Anyone come up with anything to make the 3rd row have real AC (not just cabin air)?
I am wondering if I could split off a portion of the 2nd row's AC and route it under the seats to the 3rd row. I have no idea where the exiting ducts run though or where I could tie into (other than the...
Oh forget to mention for anyone considering this , the frame has a right-to-left center support and the plywood deck is two parts. So to get to the spare, I just pull out the drawer and pop out the rearmost piece of the deck.
I finally got the frame and gear drawer complete and installed. Removing the 3rd row allowed the few extra inches of height needed for the drawer. I am very excited to reach this functional stage!
Next, dog crates for the top of the platform!
