    Definitely good discussion! I agree totally that GPS should not need your location to provide maps. But, to show where you ARE on the maps it needs location data. I'm pretty sure Rivian doesn't need our "permission" to track its vehicles. And it didn't until recently. It sounds more like a CYA...

    Well... some folks may want to see where they are in real time, but maps do not need location data to work. Google Maps shows all kinds of info WITHOUT my location data. Apple does it on their phones... w/o location data. Why can't Rivian?

    Hey, I'm new to the forum--- as an official member, anyway. Been reading since 2020. I've got a trip coming up (May 29-June 4) from Bishop, CA to Montana , and I'm concerned about charging.
