Me too!!! I’m excited for the R2 and it can’t come soon enough. I’m hoping to be able to get the LE (Day 1 reservation), but not a current Rivian owner so if I can’t get the LE, I’ll wait for the new hardware stack.

I’m actually glad they are getting it to the employees first. Selfishly, I want them to shake out any issues - but it’s also a good perk for being a Rivian employee.

On an Everyday Chris YouTube video where he visited and sat in on the nvidia self driving, they said they are still providing support for Rivian on the backend even when not using their chip and will help support others who would want to automate.

Doesn't matter to me which standard Rivian uses. Not an end all be all to me. Should carry an adapter for the other unless you want to potentially screw yourself over on a road trip.

Just saw RJ Scaringe's instagram post saying that they are "using large high pressure die castings throughout the R2 body structure - relative to R1, three castings in the rear eliminate approximately 50 stampings and over 300 joints from the body assembly!". I know that will reduce the cost...

I wonder if the Trimotor will come out first. I can't recall which interview I saw, but I swore I remember RJ saying that at least for the R3s, the X will come out ahead of the others in 2027. If that is true, then I wonder if they would push the R2 trimotor out earlier than later to give it...

Just guessing here, but I think it’s to build word of mouth and excite the existing fan base. If you are an R1 owner and you love it enough to buy an R2, you will most likely tell others about how great Rivian is. Also, being the first to get an R2 is sort of a reward for the early adopters...

I’m relieved to hear that the SJSC experience isn’t that bad. It was a legit concern of mine as I wait for the R2 as I live in the South Bay. Granted anything can change between now and then. Hopefully they’ll open up more SCs in the Bay Area.

I agree completely. I live in an old neighborhood so power outages happen frequently.
