Rivian doesn't cost less to drive on long trips
We've driven through 36 States over 25k miles in the last 2 and a half years. When we started it was significantly cheaper on average with an EV. But the price of gas has fallen and average cost of fast charging has risen n that short time. Prices in Texas at L3s are ridiculous. We saw one... -

For future proofing, in case you ever want to use a 48a charger... In addition to the recommendations above, you may consider having the electrician run wire that would be able to accommodate swapping the 50 for a 60amp breaker. 6 awg THHN wire is what I've used. -

My children have stained many stain resistant surfaces. With young children markers, raspberries, etc are inevitable. Keeping them from eating and drinking in the car is fantasy. Last week CS told me it may take several weeks for the configurator to revert to the pre-March pricing. They also confirmed I am indeed getting the same pricing as when I pre-ordered, and that June/July delivery estimate remains in spite of the lower production expectations. So far, no guide... -

Haha, still 35k more than my LE order. But I guess the option to downgrade makes up for the gas savings ruse - is that based on 3 or 5 dollars per gallon? I guess Rivian offering the option to downgrade is par for the course.- Choqni

Tesla has raised prices on its only real competing model (X) by 48% since Rivian started taking pre-orders. Can we be honest with each other - what benefit does a Rivian have over upcoming EVs?
For us, it's really three criteria. Ground clearance, EV, price. After that it's great there's a 3rd row and great tech. And compared to the other future options, the R1S is the most economical.- Choqni
