I noticed this for the first time about 30 minutes before seeing this post. Have had the Gen 1 R1S for 18 months and 20k miles and never noticed it before. I always turn off the HVAC when parking, and did so this time, so that doesn't prevent it.

There are 8 L2 chargers behind the ice cream shop pretty close to the Death Valley ranger station, if you need a boost. I was charged $0.75/kWh! in October after reading in PlugShare that they were free. Each charger has NACS and CCS.

An update... I tested the Kewig three port charger and only the right USB-C port fast charges my Samsung Galaxy S21. The other is half that speed. I contacted support and they were not too helpful, so I returned it. I put the second cigarette lighter port in it's place and bought a fast charger...

@Riptonite, excellent write-up. I followed your steps and everything went well. One thing I did a little differently was placement of the plugs. Things are a little crowded behind the panel, but they fit fine in these positions too. Thanks again!

@pc500, sounds like you sourced your power from the fuse block rather than tapping into wiring under the dash. How did your wiring project end up and what products did you use to complete it? Thanks!
