I left my R1S in my garage for a week in cold weather, then, when I went to drive it last night, I waited until just after the "raising suspension" message went out, and started backing out. I got the message a few times as reversed out into the dirt road we live on, but eventually it went away...
I totally bought my quad R1S to save money. I wasn't even aware of the 835hp, amazing ride, configurable suspension and blowing away Porsches while sipping a macchiato. Now I know what a fool I've been I may have to sell it and buy a Prius.
People please. They are yellow-ish. From 10 feet they are yellow. And … they are $5 for 12. So buy them and throw them away if you don’t like them. Or gold plate them. Even then still less than a month of Starbucks coffee and muffin.
Ok. Not good for offroading. But great on the school run. They may oxidize over time. But they are 40c each. They can be loosed with a wrench. And … here’s the thing … they are YELLOW. ?
FM reception is known to be bad. It's better in my 2014 ML350 and way better in my Tesla. However, I can play NPR radio via Alexa even though there is an annoying dialogue each time:
Me: Play WGBH radio
Rivian: I can't find that station, but I did find WGBH radio. Do you want me to play that...
Very useful. I had the same rattle - tech said he knew the fix but didn't take this approach and rattle started soon after. I had tried a few fixes and ended up with one that worked - some felt under the front edge of the grille. However, I just removed it and instead found a way to "wrap"...
2 things:
1. I've been using my original Tesla portable plug in charger for 4 years and now am using it with my Rivian via a $90 adapter from Amazon. 40 amps and no problems at all. I don't see any need for a wall charger any time soon.
2. I have a 15 kw solar installation with a Solar Edge...
The seat is compatible and I know it's not "supported", but it is more secure and would be a lot more stable in an impact so I'm ok with the lack of "support" which has no downside as far as I'm aware.
I'm in awe of your ability to contemplate kids climbing over into the third row. Kudos. As a new owner, with one kid in the center (using latches from left and right) my main concern is trying to stop my boy from destroying the rear center console with his feet, like he did in our last SUV. For...
Got into my R1S this morning and all music sources were suffering from the well documented distortion, so I switched surround sound off. Left it parked for a few hours and was about to do a soft reset when I thought ... let's just make sure it's still happening. And it was not - surround sound...
I fixed this with a 6 x 1/2 by 1/4 thick piece of felt. I used a plastic trim tool to gently raise the edge shown in the picture then slipped the felt into the gap where it is invisible but raised the grille enough to stop the rattling.
Not a great video but it does close smoothly. BTW I did add a few 1/2" black truss head screws to the carpeted flap - even my best double sided tape wouldn't hold up after a couple of warm days. Not surprised since it's a "carpeted" surface.
