  1. Software Update 2023.42.0 is out (⚠️ UPDATE: OTA fix rolling out today 11/15/23)

For anyone curious, I was able to successfully DCFC (Electrify America, Rawlins WY) after the failed update. Phone controls for SoC seem to work just fine, same with the capacitive switch for the charge port door Didn't need to stop for long, just to assuage my fears for a trip I had planned...
  2. What do you want addressed in the next OTA update?

Just tried this, and it seems to work just fine! For some reason I remember remotely activating the climate control and the cabin was just never shown to be cooling down. Maybe that was just an old app thing. Thanks!
  3. Western road trip: Wyoming to Montana and back

Nice, I don't think I've seen an R1S in-state yet! Doesn't Jackson have a Tesla Supercharger station at least? Agreed that for the amount of yuppie tourists (takes one to know one) visiting, you'd think they'd at the very least have the other half of the Chargepoint working after more than a...
  4. Western road trip: Wyoming to Montana and back

That's no good! Was it just not initiating for you? We've had some pretty severe thunderstorms roll through central/south WY over the past few days, maybe there was some type of network communication error? Anyway I'm glad you could make it down to the Interstate. Say what you will about EA but...
  5. What do you want addressed in the next OTA update?

Ability to save offline maps/aerial imagery data for a specific area. Nice for those weekend trips off the grid! I can do this through onX maps, which also uses Mapbox licensed data. Just don't want to need to pull out my phone when my dumbass can't remember if we were supposed to be headed...
  6. R1S Window Trim Peeling

Glad they were able to get to it quick. I can't be upset that I have to wait a few weeks for mobile service to come out here (almost 4 hours from nearest SC), but like others are saying, it just shouldn't have to be a thing they need to address at all. And it's just a bad look for a truck that...
  7. Has anyone received their refund for an amended 2022 federal tax return?

Picked up on 30 June, eFiled amended 2022 tax return 01 July with VIN and 15 August 2022 purchase agreement date (used H&R Block software) Received a paper check in the mail from IRS earlier this week (30. July) for the $7500 + $99.90 interest Had a minor heart attack when my wife and I...
  8. Western road trip: Wyoming to Montana and back

Yeah the Jackson garage doesn't have a lot of overhead clearance. If you have a lot of stuff on your roof, you're not going to want to chance that!
  9. Western road trip: Wyoming to Montana and back

Back in July, my wife and I took our first ever EV road trip in what was then my 2-week-old R1T by taking a short trip from our home in Rawlins, Wyoming, to visit some family in the little town of Twin Bridges, Montana. We were originally going to make the drive in my ol' reliable Nissan Xterra...
  10. R1S Window Trim Peeling

Just noticed this on my R1T today (05/23 factory date, 2200 miles), rear passenger side window. Submitted a ticket and mobile service is supposed to look at it in a few weeks when they come to deliver my spare wheel
  11. Greater Yellowstone Owners Group

This will probably be the best group for a south-central WY R1T owner for a long while! Aug 2020 preorder, changed config a few times when quad+max pack was canceled before settling on quad+large pack. Took delivery 30 June 2023 at the Denver SC. I see R1Ts stopped at the local new-ish EA...
  12. OtterSpace EV has opened DCFCs in Dubois and Lander, WY

Planning to stop by these on a drive up to MT later this week. Wouldn't be able to (comfortably) make it that far west and north from south central WY in an EV without these new fast charge options. A little nervous now that the Dubois charger has a Plugshare reviewer stating that it didn't work...
  13. 📊 Delivered R1T Owners List and Stats [Enter Yours]!

Submitted! August 2020 reservation date, 30 June 2023 delivery date. Waffled on config for a little bit. Originally spec'd quad max pack, then performance dual max pack after the original option was pulled. Switched one last time to quad large pack after it was revealed that duals were losing...
  14. Wyoming

Yeah, that's going to be a little tough. Hopefully that's not a frequent drive during the winter months where you can expect another 20% loss of range when it's no degrees Fahrenheit. Evanston is our usual "halfway point" between Rawlins and Salt Lake, it would certainly be more convenient to...
  15. Wyoming

Good news! Looks like the Adventure Network is planning to include pretty decent coverage of the I-80 corridor. Towns I think I can identify: Cheyenne Chugwater?/Wheatland? Casper Rawlins Rock Springs Lander Jackson 3 in/around Yellowstone- S/W/N entrances? Sheridan Gillette
  16. Colorado Checking In

I don't live there, but it's the closest "big city" (>100k population) to us, so my wife and I would drive down pretty frequently pre-COVID when we felt like hanging out at a taproom!
  17. Why are you buying your Rivian?

Beyond just being a BEV, Rivian is including a whole mess of intensely interesting and quality-of-life-improving technology in their vehicles that I want to invest in (upgrading from a comparatively bare-bones Xterra) Wife and I have been wanting a pickup truck for a while as an upgrade to her...
  18. Which furry friend will be riding in your Rivian?

The best brothers, Marty and Finn. Both total mutts. Marty came from the Navajo Reservation in New Mexico, Finn was surrendered to the local shelter here in Wyoming (along with his littermates) because one of his original family's other dogs bowled over one of their toddlers. They love riding...
  19. Wish List - Rivian Adventure Network (RAN) locations

Would love to see coverage of the I-80 corridor in WY. Not just because I live here... but high winds, elevation change, and cold weather are going to really cut into the rated range of a BEV. The highways close pretty frequently in the winter, so travelers are frequently stranded and in need of...
  20. The One Dealbreakers Thread to Rule Them All

Agreed on the lack of (current) high speed charging in WY. 90%+ of my driving probably won't need it, but the added peace of mind would push me to take it rather than my Xterra on long trips
