  1. Rivian tonneau fix appointments

I got my vehicle back with an operating PTC after a few days at the SC. Not sure why it took so long (I had a few other items on my service list and not all were corrected due to lack of parts). So far so good, but have to say that the sounds it makes doesn't instill a lot of confidence, though...
  2. Rivian tonneau fix appointments

Have an appt for Jan 29 in Florida (Orlando SC) - looking forward to finally having a ptc that works (mine didn't since day 1).
  3. EV Tax Penalty

I'll end mine here - I get it and happy to see that you're taking these steps. However, to get to renewables at present requires a lot of legacy energy. The mining of the lithium for the batteries, the manufacture of all the components of the vehicle, let alone the solar panels, the RAN...
  4. EV Tax Penalty

Like most things, this is not "A or B" but "A and B". We still need fossil fuel production for many reasons including for our Rivians ("vegan leather", tires which wear more quickly than ICE vehicles, plastics) and given the immaturity of most renewables (whether or not you put nuclear in that...
  5. Brake System Malfunction & Limp Mode - 19MPH

Finally got my R1T back today. Technically it was ready on Saturday but I was out of town and only picked it up this evening. Diagnosis- this time it appears the Orlando Service Center actually did a diagnosis (compared to last time the Nashville/Franklin service center basically said they...
  6. Brake System Malfunction & Limp Mode - 19MPH

Quick update - vehicle at Service Center since 30 May and I did get a call today (01 June) to say they are working on diagnosing, but not much more. I did state that I do not intend on accepting the vehicle back unless I get a full run down on root-cause analysis and the exact actions that were...
  7. Brake System Malfunction & Limp Mode - 19MPH

That's my lay-person assessment too, but if it were that simple: 1) That should have been an easy fix the first time, and 2) why does the vehicle seem to work fine for a while after it goes to sleep (no errors when getting into drive) but a hard reset after an error didn't clear the issue. A...
  8. Brake System Malfunction & Limp Mode - 19MPH

Not to my knowledge. I forced a log capture before a hard reset (which I think of as a full reboot rather than a reset as all my configs are kept such as driver list, garage door setup, etc).
  9. Brake System Malfunction & Limp Mode - 19MPH

Agree about getting more info, but getting someone to provide it is the challenge. As for loaner, standard enterprise car rental. I ended up getting a Tacoma as I needed a pickup. Wish they provided a Rivian loaner, especially now that they're catching up with orders. Will provide updates as...
  10. Brake System Malfunction & Limp Mode - 19MPH

Thanks for the quick response. I'm really hoping this gets addressed but I will need more than "we really got it fixed this time". I don't think I'm going to be confident for anything more than a trip to the grocery store for a while when I get it back.
  11. Brake System Malfunction & Limp Mode - 19MPH

Anyone have a "Brake System Malfunction" causing their R1T/S to go into limp mode? TL/DR version: Couple of weeks ago, my R1T showed a "Brake System Malfunction" on a road trip. Was presumably fixed and returned to me and after a couple of days, the same issue came back. This error causes the...
  12. Most economical wheel choice in the long run?

But plenty of 21" sizes don't mean much if you can't use them on the truck, limiting to the one at 275/55 R21 (also making sure to have the right load rating). You would get the same diameter with the 275/60 R20 with the same (or better) efficiency all other things being equal (aero covers, etc).
  13. They’re everywhere!

I almost feel cheated, as I was hoping to be an "early adopter" but even in my sleepy beach town in FL there are 5 R1Ts and 1 R1S, me being #4. But doesn't help that the first R1T was RJ's father. Seriously though, hope the trend continues.
  14. Powered tonneau replacement prediction (it’s not positive)

Dunno, maybe they found some in the back of the factory. My guess is this was a sale that fell through last fall and they only made it available in the in early March. Again - total conjecture but I think likely.
  15. Powered tonneau replacement prediction (it’s not positive)

VIN is <14000. I didnt check the build date but likely Aug/Sep 2022. I saw a few other PTCs in the shop but I wanted a Forest Edge interior.
  16. Powered tonneau replacement prediction (it’s not positive)

Have to say I'm in the disagree camp. Using a metaphor, customers effectively paid for a vacuum cleaner and got one that doesn't turn on, but it appears you are saying that in that situation getting a broom is a reasonable substitute. It's not that a solution for a powered tonneau is impossible...
  17. Powered tonneau replacement prediction (it’s not positive)

Just got my R1T delivered last week with the same situation (ordered with PTC and it came all janked up). Guide told me I could always buy the manual cover for $1800 if I want to cover my bed while I wait for a fix (not acknowledging that no one has seen the manual cover yet and no timeline for...
  18. Three R1T with powered tonneau just showed up in the R1 Shop.

Just took delivery of a shop R1T with the PTC this past week - but was delivered broken (2 slats out and crooked). Never was mentioned that it was broken as I was scheduling delivery. I knew by the VIN it was an older build which was OK with me (given the recent changes such as Meridian) but was...
  19. Delivery Issue - Missing Full Sized Spare

FWIW - I took delivery of my R1T (former max pack order and finally decided to plunge in and get one from the shop) and it was configured with a full spare which was there at the delivery. I guess your mileage may vary., but definitely not out of the question to expect it to be there if it was...
