  1. EV Dave - ranting about Rivian's navigation/DC fast charging software

Made a 1400 mile round trip a week and half ago. Return was with towing. I already knew which places I wanted to stop so I didn't have the truck plan the whole route. I would just navigate to the next charger so it would condition and then add the follow on charger as next point. I pretty much...
  2. Towing + Efficiency: Please post your experience!

5x9 boxed trailer weighs about 1500 lbs when loaded. Historically get around 1.6 to 1.7 ish at 65mph when temps are probably 50 or greater. Did a 700 mile trip in January when the last large cold snap went through and was getting around 1.4 ish until the temps got around 15 or lower and snowing...
  3. Towing Efficiency by Trailer Size & Weight

Since you're not looking for wood the trailer I have isn't for you, but hiker trailer is the company. 5x9 boxed trailer weighs about 1500 lbs when loaded. Historically get around 1.6 to 1.7 ish at 65mph when temps are probably 50 or greater. Did a 700 mile trip in January when the last large...
  4. Rivians starting to be everywhere now along Emerald Coast 30a area.

Appears to be 20 to 30 vehicles in Pensacola Florida area. Based off seeing one with a new color or t vs a every week or so. Not an exact science but a service center in the Gulf Coast area would eventually be great.
  5. Problems problems, all these damn problems! Let's hear from those who've had little / no issues! 🗯️

About to hit 6 months and 10k miles. Averaging over 2.3 mi/kw with about 1000 miles of towing at highway speed. Software updates have been great so far. Only took the truck in for the recall about the wipers contacting a wire bundle. The Gulf Coast isn't a great place for service on the vehicle...
  6. Tailgate won’t close with new (manual) tonneau cover

I installed mine a week ago. Snug but able to close. Didn't have to do anything with seals. Can take pictures in the morning if needed.
  7. On Board Air Compressor Issues?

My issue with compressor is that the number it shows is different then what the car states and what my hand reader gives. I just note what I see and add that to what the compressor reads to get the psi I want. Not ideal though.
  8. Towing + Efficiency: Please post your experience!

Completed my first trip towing small camper trailer. Hiker trailer is the company and it's their 5x9 box and 13’frame. Weight of the trailer is approximately 1600 lbs with our camp gear in it. Towing conditions were temps in 60s on the way up and 80s on the return and wind generally light all...
  9. Service is the weak link

Just want to add a good experience of Atlanta sc. Noticed two issues with the truck after purchase (not safety related). Received a phone call later that day asking to schedule a date. I chose a date that was going to allow me to drop off the truck on the way back from Chattanooga to NW Florida...
  10. Frequency of totaled Rivians

My vehicle accident happened right around 1500 mile mark. I was at stopped at a stop light and impacted directly in the rear at probably 30mph. The truck barely moved as a result of the impact so I can say I would feel extremely safe driving in one. The end result was a bent frame on both rear...
  11. R1S A/C awful loud clicking/screeching sound on startup

Have the same sound. Noise occurs twice during the first 20ish seconds after AC is turned on. Afterwards the noise is gone and AC acts as expected. Dropping mine off while driving by Atlanta in two weeks. Curious what yours ends up being.
  12. Damage results from 7K lbs R1T vs Civic in collision

I do have the estimate the collision center did. Biggest component was the frame which ended up being bent near the rear section on each side. Most of the rest of the cost was for removing parts in order to replace the frame and then the rear bumper area/ panels where the exterior damage...
  13. Damage results from 7K lbs R1T vs Civic in collision

So yes it ended up being a total loss. Took a bit of time but the at fault said and my insurance agreed. They will pay out plus 20 percent on top of the cash value based off comps of other vehicles. Should get the payout next week.
  14. An idiot hit us in “ Small overlap front collision” and I assume totaled my R1T [Updated with pic of damage to other truck 😱]

If you take a look around the forum from about a month ago you'll see a post about getting rear ended by a Honda Civic. Not anywhere as bad as your accident and I'm glad all are recovering well. Rivian pointed me in the direction of the closest approved collision center and can say they've...
  15. Regen severely limted for less than 1 mile.

I've had that more when charging closer to 85% limit but also at 70. The Regen limit appears on dash but went away relatively quickly. Plus I didn't really feel any difference in amount of Regen because my first few minutes of driving is usually relatively slow. Based in NW Florida so...
  16. Damage results from 7K lbs R1T vs Civic in collision

See the original post for update. Not crazy amount new at this time.
  17. Damage results from 7K lbs R1T vs Civic in collision

With my uneducatedish eyes I would say it's just the plastic after looking underneath and where the tailgate is pushing in. We'll see what the smarter people say. Still haven't gotten any other warning lights saying issues with battery etc.
  18. Damage results from 7K lbs R1T vs Civic in collision

Will be dropping it off at collision center on Monday. We'll see how long it takes to get an estimate.
  19. Damage results from 7K lbs R1T vs Civic in collision

I didn't realize I was hit until a few seconds later when I started to see smoke and then noticed the blue of the civic in rear view mirror. I can say that from rear impacts you probably have no fear thanks to the beefy nature of the R1T.
  20. Damage results from 7K lbs R1T vs Civic in collision

Asking for my bulldog. How much were they asking by chance? Also I did just email my guide. See what he says. Collecting all information at this time to make the best decision.
