I charge from solar and have recently had excess capacity so I have been charging to 85%. I have noticed that my R1 sleeps for 8+ hours. Is there any truth to this or purely coincidental?
I am out of town and ran a little experiment. My charger uses roughly 6kwh per day. I am throwing away $200/year. Other than using my breaker box, is there a way to power off my Rivian Charger? Also if not does anyone have a charger that powers down?
in a country that keeps building more interstates than bike lanes and mass transit, what is the future for micromobility? is the goal to get cars off the road, people out of mass transit, or just something fun to get around? E-bikes/scooters for now provide transportation faster than walking...
I charge from solar during the day so i limit my charging to 24A from 2-7 in the app. The car kept engaging at 48A and tripping the charger. I updated the app and now all seems to work. Hope this helps someone else.
This was more of a science experiment but I added 10- 400 watt panels, eg4 6000xp, and eg4 14kw battery. Two days in and I am maxing out the battery which provides enough charge for the car. In total the project cost about $8k, so a 15 year payback.
My charger consistently charged at 11.2kw now it charges at 10.8 at 48A. I know there are heaps of variables but I did not know if L2 degradation was common after 18 months.
I have a gen 1 quad that I paid 75k for and my trade in is 70k. Does anyone know why Rivian limits the trade-in amount on a lease. Louisiana reduces sales tax on a trade-in so this will cost me about $5k in taxes negating any savings. Am I missing something?
Thanks
I am sitting at a RAN charger contemplating economics. Currently there are RANs and Tesla SC in the same parking lot. Pricing is as follows
Lot 1
RAN-.55
SC-.38
Lot 2
RAN- .55
SC-.30
Electrify America .56 but reduced to .42 with a $7 subscription.
Yes I know RIVN is young and trying to grow...
I am not advocating for CarPlay but the addition of chromecast seems a bit hypocritical. The anti-CarPlay rationale was that Rivian wanted to control the experience but now the driver is controlling the experience. but I guess Rivian would say they control the ‘driving’ experience and the driver...
