    I made a RAN Map

Yeah. There is some good free opensource stuff out there, but it'd take awhile to pick up how to georeference an image and have the program stretch and skew it as necessary. It's a pretty quick effort for someone who knows what they're doing though.

    I made a RAN Map

Geospatial software (like Google earth) and a file type. I don't have time to dig into it over the next couple of days, but if someone doesn't give it a go, I may do it this weekend.

    I made a RAN Map

Someone could save some time and do the full map in one shot in a GIS program and then either export the a georeferenced image or digitize the locations to share in maps/earth with a KML. That would probably be quicker overall and more useful.

    What will we learn 6/14 - 6/20?

It's fair. It seems to be their "personality" and they very well may be adjusting pain. 🤷‍♂️ Companies have their quirks. As annoying as it is, holding things close to the chest definitely seems to be Rivian's.

Agreed. I was just having some fun with it.

    What will we learn 6/7 - 6/13?

Random thought: for a company intent on having a small environmental footprint, having black buildings is going either use a lot of A/C or make working in the summers suck.

Preferences (I don't like this look either, but many do).

I know. I'm pointing out one of the logical fallacies that he was tired of dealing with.

And if you take the model 3 away, Tesla would no longer exist. What's your point?

You didn't answer the question. When has spaceX stuck humans in an unproven space craft? How many payloads have they lost? How does that compare to the typical failure rate if space flight? SpaceX does *not* shit the bed when it comes to delivering product in an industry that has a very high...

    What will we learn 6/7 - 6/13?

When has SpaceX put a human in an unproven space ship? They actually seem fairly conservative by testing so much. You just can't test a rocket in private.

I decided not to purchase a Tesla partially because have a tendency the ship out low quality cars at times. First impressions matter. If Rivian kicks out a shit product that needs a lot of fixes after release they may not ever recover from bad PR.

Elon would never sacrifice quality to hit an end of quarter production goal to help the stock. Never. 😦

Tesla, Rivian in court over trade secrets

Yeah. I wear an order of the engineer ring specifically as a reminder of a failure that occurred in Canada long ago. I'm actually not sure that we want people involved in the software world to have the same liabilities a professional engineer does. I'm not sure that would be fair to the human...

Tesla, Rivian in court over trade secrets

Yeah, I generally agree. And it's mostly a soap box thing that you happens to trigger. When I was TAing as a grad student it drove me nuts we seniors in a Civil degree still weren't going taking their future responsibility serious, because in a year or two they would be making decisions that...

Tesla, Rivian in court over trade secrets

I work at a Geotechnical and environmental engineering firm. It's not tech in the sense of I don't work for FAANG, and we are in a different industry. Mostly semantics. I'm probably going to offend some people here, but oh well. Tech isn't engineering in the sense that software "engineers"...

Tesla, Rivian in court over trade secrets

. Minor tangential rant here generally echoing AJ. Yes, recruiting is very common. The big tech companies did actually get in legal trouble over it a few years ago. Many States also make non-compete clauses virtually unenforceable. Elon is just bitching because nobody likes to compete over...
