  1. Questions on Long Term Parking at ORD

How about a one way rental minivan/suv? I’ve done that a few times when I’m flying out of ORD. Didn’t realize they had chargers in Long term parking. By all means, use them for the intended purpose. I’d try and find one under a streetlight and keep the GearGuard on. I would be checking GG...
  2. Interesting questions or statements in parking lots about R1T or S

I was being self deprecating, I know I’m a Rivian fanboy. I beg to disagree, a quad motor is new and compelling, An EV pick up a new configuration, that’s compelling. In an effort to not hijack the thread, an odd question I get asked at the end of my unsolicited sales pitch is ā€œhow much?ā€ I...
  3. Interesting questions or statements in parking lots about R1T or S

Strangers who ask a question eventually ask if I work for for Rivian. My friends say I should work in sales for Rivian. I ask myself ā€œam I as obnoxious as Tesla fanboys?ā€ No, I tell myself, because Rivian is a better product and deserves my loyalty. Whereas Tesla is a tired design with a...
  4. Questions on Long Term Parking at ORD

Honestly I kinda think it’s bad form to take up a charging spot for weeks. If you’re parking for that long you're going have a large bill regardless, why not take a car service? It’ll be the approximately the same price as your parking fee And would allow short term EV users more access. Just a...
  5. Interesting questions or statements in parking lots about R1T or S

I’m a bit verbose by nature, so, when I get asked ā€œis that a Fordā€ I happily launch i to ā€œno it’s a Rivian! Made in Illniosā€ I have a habit of talking about my R1T like it’s a child piano prodigy. Seriously, was at the Milwaukee auto show. Rivian could’ve asked me to man a booth at the show for...
  6. 85% 265 miles got me 198 miles and down to 10%

Not sure which direction you were coming from, but the new Costco in Verona has a ton of chargers. I haven’t used it yet, so no review from me
  7. IRS Transition rule guidance changed

After reading the new rules, I still qualify for the credit even if I wait until 2023. Thankfully (I guess) Rivian took all the options off my configuration, so MSRP is under $80,000. Pre March order holder. Married filing jointly limit is 300,000
  8. IRS Transition rule guidance changed

Depends on the date of BPA. Pre 8/16/2022 Yes you can file. BPA signed after 817/22 No At least that’s my understanding. I have questions as to what constitutes a BPA though
  9. IRS Transition rule guidance changed

Man, Not sure what I can do in my situation. I signed my BPA December 11. Could’ve taken delivery on 12/29 but a work trip came up. I could’ve had my wife take ā€œ deliveryā€œ and leave it Normal until I got back. But, I called my accountant and he said as long as I signed my BPA in 2022, I was...
  10. Have an F150 Lightning for a week. What R1T comparisons do you guys want to see?

Mode comparison, I don’t know what the Lighting has for modes, but a head to head in Sport, conserve, all purpose, etc and whatever Ford calls their equivalent modes Option packages for both Launch, Adventure, wheel sizes, underbody protection and whatever Ford has. please don’t spend a bunch...
  11. Motorcycle wheel chock system installed in the bed. Just needs a coat of paint!

Thank you very much for the info. I haven’t used center stand on the 1200, only once with a F800, it wasn’t a great idea.. I’ll look into Bed Buddy.
  12. Motorcycle wheel chock system installed in the bed. Just needs a coat of paint!

Thanks for the details, I needed a new truck project. I’m getting itchy waiting for the Rivian manual tonneau and was about to start spending cash on materials. This will occupy the brain cells for awhile
  13. Conserve Mode: $125 a month tire cost!

When you live in Wisconsin, it’s -8 and you can watch the range go down twice the expected amount. Conserve mode makes sense :)
  14. Conserve Mode: $125 a month tire cost!

Thank you to the OP for bringing this up and to the responses. I drive in conserve most of the time. I have never really thought about tire wear. But considering all the factors, weight, camber, acceleration and one that hasn’t been mentioned yet Regen. All that energy being created when that...
  15. Motorcycle wheel chock system installed in the bed. Just needs a coat of paint!

I’m pretty lucky with the layout of my yard and I can roll a bike from the the lawn straight from the grass onto the tail gate. If the stakes weren’t so high, I could ride on, but turning a front tire on the tailgate lip and damaging the bike, truck and myself at the same time, means I have to...
  16. Motorcycle wheel chock system installed in the bed. Just needs a coat of paint!

Looks like a good design, all the V plate is doing is keeping the front tire from flopping around. Iā€˜m not sure I want to see if the spare tire cover can support the weight of the center stand. I’ve come up with some creative ways to tie down the the 1200 in the back of my Titan. I tried center...
  17. Reclaiming empty powered tonneau cover space

Could be a spot for the air compressor accessories bag. Make the bag bigger so you can actually get everything back in the bag. Also a spot for extra ball hitches, tow straps other emergency gear that doesn’t get used frequently, bit is nice to have, just in case.
