If it's happening on most trucks and they are eventually going away then it's flat spots for sure. The way to solve that for Rivian is to increase the tire pressure during shipping.
My 22s shake at exactly 60mph not before or after, I don't care enough to do anything about it until I get to 5k miles and do a tire rotation and balance them then.
Unless OPs car sat and got flat spots a wheel weight likely fell off or it was balanced incorrect off the bat.
Add a mode that simulates whatever brake regen mode you are in that keeps the regen feel the same by blending the brakes when regen is limited. Pretty sure tesla does this.
I'm a professional tech for German vehicles for a loooong time. I have a launch edition Vin 2,xxx. Mine sounds like a truck in my opinion. I had a creaking noise that developed around 1,000miles, sounded like metal on metal.
Denver service center fixed it for me first try. They said it was an...
I agree with most of the people about the large being big enough. Staying at every fast charger on a road trip for 10-15 more minutes can make the max pack irrelevant unless you tow constantly. For road trips I would love to be able to have the capability of driving over 300 miles and still have...
Does anyone have any real data to show what the Max pack will be in size/kwh? I swear I saw something somewhere at one point in time that said it was going to be 180 kwh. If that's true I'd assume 175 kwh usable.
In my r1t that would net me 450ish miles in all purpose mode in the colorado...
Awesome write up, good on ya. The range calculation in all conditions I've driven in seem to be very accurate which is really comforting. Im in a very cold climate with lots of hills like OP. I'd rather see a realistic range than what other cars I've had do and show wildly unrealistic ranges cuz...
This one hundred percent, the worst thing about the vampire drain is that it's unnecessary, it's not an EV characteristic at all, I've never had one that does it until now.
It's the equivalent of buying a new ICE car with a steady fuel leak.
-creep mode, no auto hold I mean
-the ability to have a better shipping mode for the people that don't want the parasitic drain, especially when parked overnight at home. I have no interest in phone as a key.
-option to make cameras come on automatically when park assist is activated, ie slow...
Yep, you can lock a taycan and it will sit there idle and lose no power until the 12v eventually dies. One of the things porsche gets right for sure, there is minimal 12v drain and no HV battery drain.
Yep, as far as I know it's industry wide and for various reasons. My experience is with built in battery sensor failure which makes the 12v unusable, even if it is technically good past the sensor.
Yeah I'm just guessing about the sensors one day I might access mine and take a look. The cars I work on do it both ways and with both battery types agm and lifepo.
The parasitic drain is obviously not helping the 12v batteries have an easier life either. They told me 2% loss a day is normal...
Nice, I heard they also use two, I'm not sure why or if that's true, but if the battery sensor is part of the battery and not a separate part then the reason for the high replacements would likely be due to the sensor failing or not taking an update and the battery then won't charge properly if...
In the paperwork that comes with the vehicle, the one that shows you how to do the two different reset procedures, it clearly states to not do the large reset repeatedly.
