There are so many ways to get rid of cars these days, unless you live in a state that only taxes the difference of the purchase minus the trade (I'm in California, they tax the full purchase), not sure what benefit trading in would really be.
I honestly can't remember the last time I traded a...
I'm curious what 2 Giga Factories they are referring to.
The first one took 24 months to open 14% (2014 - 2016) of the planned factory and expected to complete the build out by 2020, according to the Tesla site it is about 30% complete now.
Giga factory 2 took from 2014 to 2017 to build...
There have been tweaks but nothing that I have seen where I would say I got more range.
I did see where the BMS was modified and saw improvements in charge times as well as longer charge time before drop off of the rate for higher charge levels.
On the flip side, there was also an update that...
I agree OTA is a mixed bag. Kind of like when the OS on your PC/Phone changes when they occasionally alter the UI on major upgrades.
I am always extra cautious on autopilot after an upgrade, have seen a couple where it behaved a little different so just pay even more attention first few uses...
I would think there is going to be significant delays for the CT.
I heard they are way behind deliveries for the reworked Model S and Model X because of chip shortages. These should be minimal changes compared to an all new CT.
Based on the web site, it is just a matte black interior finishes not simulated wood. In the renderings it looks more like a plastic or similar material and does not change when you choose different seat color.
Don’t quite know how to respond to that statement.... I guess it was a convenient excuse for all of the businesses that had to permanently close as well.
I have to assume you and your family were fortunate to be minimally impacted but their are a lot of people who did not fair so well.
I agree, get it as right as you can. I’m sure the negative impact for bad quality or issues would be far worse than the delivery delays.
I believe the delay is more about having the infrastructure in place to support the business than the how ready the vehicles are.
If they are able to make...
This is true for instance Tesla regen progressively reduces when over 90% charge and is non-existent above 98%.
I’ve also had some friends tell me in cold weather their regen breaking is spotty.
There is a readout on the dash giving you regen feedback on the Tesla.
Just a follow up, I emailed CS to get an official (?) response on the roof edge color. Not sure based on what we have seen but maybe the other R1S models that were not black were just to get out and start testing. Here is the official CS response;
I see what you are saying, especially these 2 pictures clearly are not body colored, I'm even more confused at this point... I can't reconcile the RJ video with what I see here. It does not seem like they would be building different trim levels at this point and focusing on cleaning up the LE...
I think it is going to be body color and not black. This may have been an additional change form the preproduction vehicles they were showing.
If you look at the row of cars in the video where RJ demonstrates the flat folding seats, they all have body color around the roof of the vehicle.
