There are plenty of companies that can provide me with insurance quotes and there are plenty of banks and credit unions where I can get auto loan rates.
There is only one company that can provide me with a hands on test drive of a Rivian, this is the only news I care about.
I always take what I believe is an uncommon approach to cars, at least these days. I usually drive my vehicles until they drop, i.e. have to go to the scrap yard. In the last 20 years, I have only traded in 1 vehicle. I currently have 2 vehicles that are 2008 models, one of which is a Saturn...
Yes, it is called marketing, but I do not think Rivian has that department yet. GM has been providing these types of videos on a regular basis since revealing the Hummer EV last October. I get an email form them each month with video links that provide details and show vehicles out testing...
Each time you cycle a battery you take away capacity and life. I do not buy a car for the purpose of powering my house, I intend to use it for transportation. For people worried about power outages or peak energy reduction there are multiple choices already:
More detailed info provided by GM, they have a good marketing department.
The trail maps feature seems really cool, integrates with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and predicts battery usage for the specific trail you are on. Works offline too, for those remote areas. You need to get about...
That is the only comparison I was trying to make. Rivian did their hot weather testing last year, and they will deliver this summer. GM is doing hot weather testing this year and will deliver in the fall. CT has done neither.
FYI, GM just officially announced the Silverado EV today, to be...
They already did this:
When I got to see the Hummer in person, the GM rep told me they have 15 out testing, at least 2 are now in Arizona getting ready for hot weather testing this summer.
Here is what amazes me about this video; the Hummer is much further from deliveries than Rivian, yet look at how much detail this video provided. Such as:
- Showing the battery pack mockup
- Showing suspension details
- Showing the tailgate working
- Showing the seats actually folding
