Mercedes building charging network in NA -- partnering with Chargepoint to build 400 sites /2500 stalls

I always have a good chuckle when I see how miserable EQS drivers/passengers look when charging at an EA station. Walmart parking lot, next to a dumpster, across from a Nissan Leaf. Clearly not the luxury experience they thought they were buying!

Is Voice to Text Messaging without CarPlay/AA Even Possible?

Since Rivian already uses AWS for other services they will likely integrate this at some point in the future.

    20” Blizzak snow tires installed

My shop didn't want to deal with removing the panels and said they didn't have rubber pads for their lift. Since the frame is painted I didn't want to remove the panels for them and have the frame scratched. So I bought the Rivian Style pucks and it was quick and easy for them to put the truck...

Guess I need some snow tires... my R1T hood now has a nice dent (on factory 20" A/T)

Got my LT3s mounted yesterday. Definitely louder and harsher than the Pirellis. Which are now for sale.

New York FS: Four 20" Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain tires

These tires were purchased from Rivian along with the 20" rims in early November. They have 770 miles on them. My local shop measured the tread depth to be between 12/32 and 12.5/32 for all four. These tires have never been off-road, abused, or used to show off the truck's launch abilities to...

New EA Chargers Are Failing in the Cold - Fixed!!?

Dude the only way you could be biting harder is if your screen name was Jaws.

2023 Rivian EPA Numbers published on official website

I was seeing 330 miles on a charge on 21" wheels. So I'm guessing they changed the testing methodology. I would love to be wrong though!

@Mark_AZR1T do you know when orders placed today (after your huge push!) will be shipped?

Guess I need some snow tires... my R1T hood now has a nice dent (on factory 20" A/T)

How do the Nokian LT3 tires ride? My shop said that light truck tires would be very harsh and I'd feel every bump. I bought them anyway and I'm getting them mounted tomorrow so I'll guess I'll find out one way or the other!

Hacking Rivian security with Flipper Zero (Spoiler Alert: Rivians are built like a fortress)

If you disable PaaK while at home you are protected from this particular attack. A bad actor would have to first trick the vehicle into thinking it is elsewhere. Presumably by spoofing GPS signals. Hopefully the vehicle only refreshes its location when queried by Rivian infrastructure (ex. in...

Upcoming First R1T Trip - Upstate NY to Steamboat Springs CO

I did this exact same trip this summer in our Ioniq5 (Orange County, NY -> North Routt County, CO) but went back to NY instead of FL. ABRP is a must. The charging/routing logic is superior to the built-in nav in R1T right now. The Plugshare app is a must to check on the status of your...

Lubed tonneaus - is yours still working?

I used Fluid Film and sprayed the rails with the tonneau open. I started from the cab end and stopped about a foot from the tailgate as the tonneau would distribute the lubricant to this part of the rails while closing, minimizing excess. I tried not to over apply it as it would attract dirt...

Lubed tonneaus - is yours still working?

If you lubed your tonneau before it broke, is it still working? Please only respond to the poll if you lubed your tonneau rails (with wet or dry lube) before it broke. I have had my R1T for about 8 months, lubed the tonneau twice, and it's still working as expected. Curious to know how others...

Rich Rebuilds picks up his R1T and goes to confront the dealer who tried to rip him off…

I am a fan of Rich and so I watched the whole thing. Probably not the best use of my 51 minutes but too late now. He doesn't make this point explicitly, but he should've. The Rivian route planning algorithm and charging location database led him into that charging desert in Delaware. This is...

    Ghost Chargers On Map

I almost always check my charging stops on Plugshare ahead of time and route based on recent check-ins there. It is unfortunate that we need to take that step every time, but the alternatives are unpleasant.

    Experienced Winter Ice Buildup Issues

It's not literally a handle. But it is a large section of exposed Gear Tunnel door that you can grab once you open a rear door.

    Wind Noise

Yes. It didn't help with the wind noise but it did cause the rear door to scratch against the front door in the summer when the metal expanded.
