Counterpoint to the onslaught of negative points

I’m not saying the gripes people have are insignificant, but basically every car on the market could be nitpicked like crazy. We have a choice whether to enjoy our Rivians, and I’m enjoying the heck out of mine despite the flaws.

Congrats on getting yours! It’s worth the wait!

Your Rivian Guide Experience- Meet Expectations or Less Than Stellar? (Knowledge, Helpful, Responsiveness?)

Kellee N is my guide and was very responsive. Always emailed back within about 1 business day and provided accurate information.

Man, I love those 20inch ATs on it. What a picture and setup!

    R1T Orders: Jan '23 - Feb '23 -- Status

Mine got delivered today, 32 days after getting a VIN on 12-27-2022. It shipped 3 days after VIN and took about 21 days to get to Portland, Oregon. Took 4-5 days to get through QC and then I just got an email to schedule delivery - no phone call. Delivery was super easy and smooth. Many of us...

8 Step Process stopped me at Step 2

FWIW, it shouldn’t hold up the buying process. For example, other steps like insurance and payment don’t get finalized until like 1-2 days before your scheduled delivery, which will be at least a couple weeks from now. Congrats on getting one!

Rivian Driver+ places #8 in Consumer Reports 2023 Driver Assistance Rankings

I’m glad it works well on the F-150 - I hoped the sensor location would yield better results. On your truck, the sensor is to the left of the steering wheel, sort of in the center-left of the dash, right? They put the Mach E sensor where the steering wheel meets the driver’s gauge cluster, so...

Easy there buddy, sounds like the eye nanny interrupted your morning coffee too! You’re right, I guess I just don’t know how time works. Sorry about that.

Rivian Driver+ places #8 in Consumer Reports 2023 Driver Assistance Rankings

Yes, constantly. I actually ended up turning BC off completely at one point because I was so fed up with it. It gives you 1-2 seconds to take a drink before it goes off, sure, but when I’m sitting in traffic drinking my coffee, it sure felt like it would go off nearly every time I took a drink...

Amy Mast (Rivian communications director) has left for Ford

Ford is just as bad, and arguably even much worse, than Rivian when it comes to communication. Spend some time on the Mach E and Lightning forums…lots of frustrated customers there too. Communication is seriously one of the easiest things a company can do to maintain a good relationship with...

Rivian Driver+ places #8 in Consumer Reports 2023 Driver Assistance Rankings

When it works as it should, it’s really good. When you’re in stop and go traffic during rush hour on the highway, it’s great. That eye nanny in the Mach E just ruins it for me though. The sensor in the F-150 is placed much better, so perhaps that was the test vehicle CR used.

Rivian Driver+ places #8 in Consumer Reports 2023 Driver Assistance Rankings

Like another CR report regarding Ford’s BlueCruise, the “perceived” safety of the system and the active engagement of the driver are disproportionately weighed. On the Mach E, BlueCruise has this ridiculous “eye nanny” that is CONSTANTLY triggered every time you take a drink or drive with your...

    R1T Orders: Dec '22 - Jan '23 -- Status Room

I got my VIN and 8 steps just before you, also in PDX, and mine was in transit for 3 weeks. It arrived at the SC on Thursday or Friday, per my guide, and the delivery was just unlocked today at 4:13 PM. I didn’t get a phone call or text from my guide or the SC, it was just an email letting me...

    New Rivian App Update! (1.10.0)

That would be so functional. Just have a couple of presets where we could do it ourselves. Idk why car companies haven’t figured out how to do that already.

    Kia EV9 Specs are out

This actually looks good for Rivian. It shows that the dual motor option, if close to the advertised price in the configurator, will be very competitive. 78k with no dealer shenanigans vs 73k with dealer shenanigans for a far inferior vehicle, IMO, is a no-brainer. Rivian needs the competition...

Rivian R1T vs Tesla Model S white interior cleanup after 5k miles

I had white interior on 3 of my last 4 cars. I spend a lot of time in the woods and am a bit of a clean freak about my cars. Never seemed to have an issue - no signs of wear or discoloration. Two Subarus and a Mach E, so nothing special.

    Are Rivian Financing Rates Competitive?

Same. Rivian’s rates are about 1.5% higher but my credit union was being difficult to work with. Didn’t wanna delay delivery so I’m just refinancing ASAP.

Hmm, just go this email: It’s time to order your F-150 Lightning™ truck.

How could we expect those poor dealers to take delivery off the trailer and then make a phone call to the customer for less than a $10,000 markup? How do they do it?! The worst part is that Ford was “accepting orders” at MSRP but, unless the buyer was well-educated in the forums, the buyer...

Hmm, just go this email: It’s time to order your F-150 Lightning™ truck.

Make sure your dealer won’t hit you with a surprise markup when it’s delivered. That’s a common thing with Ford dealers (my last 2 cars were Mach E’s). The contract wouldn’t have mattered anyway because that only mattered if the car was delivered by 12-31-2022. Also, they’re completely...
