Has anyone changed their Launch edition build?

I've remember seeing fluctuations with the price and the removal/addition of various trims, which came with price changes of their own, but I dont remember seeing any price changes that seemed commensurate with the reduction of their EV tax credit. I may not have been following as closely as...

Has anyone changed their Launch edition build?

I agree with both of your assessments. Tbh if the green act resets the EV tax credit for tesla at 7k for another 400l vehicles im really considering buying a Tesla M3 as holdover for 1-2 years while Rivian identifies and corrects some issues. I recently watched a model 3 review and they were...

Has anyone changed their Launch edition build?

Agreed, and it takes up a lot of space, especially if you were just planning on bringing some cast iron skillets and a cutting board for cooking. Id consider it for 1k, but over that is too much coin for me. This is already a pretty spicy purchase for me.

Overhead (drone) and underbody video of a charging R1T

I noticed that too. The best of both worlds would be to have both features available, but configurable to your preferences!

Overhead (drone) and underbody video of a charging R1T

Anyone notice how the light bar wasn't indicating a green state of charge during the charging session? I wonder if that feature has been scrapped.

Rivian Official Video: The Long Weekend Wyoming

Although we can infer through this video that the tailgate will slowly lower through the press of a button, this video does not at all confirm it. There has plenty of features and tweaks identified in little videos like this that have been since removed/altered in some form. Until it gets...

R1T bed and Tonneau cover concerns

I bought a used 12x8 utility trailer last year for just under 1k. Solid purchase and highly recommend if its not too much trouble to store. I've recently been waffling back and forth between the LE I have configured or waiting a little while for the reviews to come out and bugs be addressed...

What We Know - Collecting Information Directly From Rivian

Again this is my frustration with Rivian's communications. Rivian tries to have their cake and eat it too. Rivian boasts about how they were operating in stealth mode for a decade, making the decisions, getting things in order, doing the testing, securing the facility, ect, then only revealing...

What We Know - Collecting Information Directly From Rivian

I agree with the price argument. The analogy I have is as if tesla advertised the model X for 69k, but then when it came time to configure they said well the X that we somewhat advertised is actually 75k, but hey here's the model Y for 67500. Then ppl say hey actually delivered under cost...

Rivian confirms POWERED tailgate has now been KILLED

So their website portrays one thing to the general public, but unpublished conversations reveal something completely different? Perhaps this feature isn't as important to you, but what if they did this with something else? What if when anyone asks at an event or in private they say yea 300...

Rivian confirms POWERED tailgate has now been KILLED

They never said it wouldn't either. I think they implied strongly that it was going to be available at launch, because they never said anything explicitly otherwise.

Rivian confirms POWERED tailgate has now been KILLED

Rivian completely changed their marketing on this. They went from level 3 autonomy is coming and "well take the wheel you take the view" to "driver+ is an advanced driver assistance program that requires the drivers full attention at all times" and in the faq page: "driver+ is not a level 3...

Rivian confirms POWERED tailgate has now been KILLED

A lower cost for a model with fewer features than what was originally offered as "standard." When I look at the cost of these vehicles I dont even consider the explore package. During the reveal Rivian stated that the vehicle would have all the above listed features for 69k. Later during a...

R1T climbing steep grade - video posted by RJ

Anyone else notice the handles were out for the entire ascent video? That still bothers me for some reason.

    Options and extras?

It does look a lot smaller though. Plus, who knows if this design makes it to production for hummer. We were promised a 180 degree folding tailgate and that didn't make the cut, so perhaps there are things we are comparing to the hummer or cybertruck that may not make it to fruition either.

APP idea: combining elements of AirBnB and grassroots charging

Not thinking this will be a million dollar app. Just an idea that can get you through a deadzone if you didn't want to wait for the 400m pack or the RAN network to be built out to your satisfaction. I didnt know about the plugshare feature though, that essentially serves this purpose.

APP idea: combining elements of AirBnB and grassroots charging

By way of monitoring these forums I've discovered dead zones with charging across particular highway corridors. What do you guys think about an AirBnB style app where you rent out a room and access to a 220volt charger by the hour? It seems like some of these charging deserts could be...
