P. S. I did, with my nephew, have an opportunity to ask RJ directly about the comfort levels of the 22 and 20. His response: “I have driven both and the 22 is a good ride.” He evidently thought this issue one of fine tuning and personal use and preference.
Well said! Driving Performance X with 22 summer and 20 winter, my one thought is the Rivian is a performance off-road vehicle that should and does have a 21 option splitting the difference. 21’s make sense for all purpose Rivian’s, unless most driving is either paved or dirt and then the 22’s...
One of the most beautiful areas in the whole world. Every mile you drive there, around the corner is a grand new scene to take in and appreciate. Stunning. Must have chargers! Multiple locations. Amen
However, lots people park for a week and must charge relatively quickly when they return to get away. So I prefer a less than an hour charge and then I do not have to park at a charger at all though the all day charge works for some.
One dynamite hub destination to spread out from like the spokes of a wagon wheel is Yellowstone/Tetons/Wind River Range with close by towns including Jackson and Cody. The traffic is already immense in the spring, summer, and fall with innumerable wilderness destinations nearby. No doubt this...
This is a beautiful idea, and have a special E powered “8 cylinder roar” from hidden speakers in the bed of the R1T to turn on and off, up and down. Blow the roof off. 😀
To anyone living in Austin, If I were there, I would be driving once a week to see the Cybertruck and Semi factory going up, taking pictures, and yes do it while still celebrating NASCAR. A NASCAR race without the “roar” would be a silent movie! Got to have ICE cars in perpetuity. Merry...
The lack of information reduces interest and participation on the boards. Silence backfires as a marketing strategy, people get bored, however this will end shortly, as we all know, because we are on the cusp of an information deluge that will see this site explode with creative content...
The shift toward the BEV with varieties and degrees of automatic driving will likely be “fast” as noted, for complex reasons with many factors that are likely to converge in space and time, here and now. This is a world wide phenomenon too, cat out of the bag, no going back, reminding me of how...
Well said, and true for R1T, not true for Cybertruck. There are good reasons: Cybertruck is being built in Texas, is far tougher than any other truck, is huge, is priced low, has a wild design, and is one reason why Elon is moving to Austin. This is confrontation time for ICE full sized trucks...
Truck and SUV sales dominate, True. Rivian pioneers with tough off-road capability for these segments but does this translate into something new for highway driving where most people travel? That is not clear to me. Rivian excites me because it combines the best of what Tesla does with a go...
Spot on. Rivian will have a roll to play but most likely serving/contracting with other companies using their technology or as a part of one of the Big’s. Many, as I do, wish they could preserve their independence.
Rivian’s vision and execution warrant the investment. Customer care and sales efforts are wholly different. With all the new competition coming Rivian is in serious danger of getting left in the dust even with Amazon investment and purchases — see Volkswagen as just one example. Hopefully...
