Here's the current Rivian charging map. They put "Destination" chargers, not RAN near many parks. These are L2 chargers. But they're not everywhere.

We did use the RAN in Front Royal and Waynesboro and they worked flawlessly.
We just wrapped up a multi-day trip to New River Gorge National Park and Preserve in West Virginia. We had avoided this trip in the past due to the lack of L3 charging. There is a Tesla supercharger in Beckley, but it's not open to non Teslas. The next closest high speed charger is 50+ miles...
For the record that is a closed FB group.
Regarding Sterling, new service center will be at 42750 Trade W Dr, Sterling, VA 20166
Permits were pulled last October. Feel free to track the progress on Loundon Country’s permit system. I’d expect a soft opening this summer.
I’m not going to try to convince you one way or the other. I’ll speak from my experience.
We have an LE R1T, early VIN, and we’ve had it since Dec 2022. It has been the best vehicle we’ve ever owned. (We had two Porsche Macan’s, a Grand Cherokee and Range Rover before). The power and capability...
Just a reminder, Rivian does show pre-owned inventory based on zip code.

We have a Quad R1T on AT tires and you’ll be fine at 85% charge on the large pack battery. (I know you’re looking at the tri motor) Always have an option or plan to hit a charger if needed. Look at PlugShare to locate L2 and L3 chargers.
There’s nothing wrong with charging to 100% at home on a...
I've lived in the DMV for 25 years and in my experience dealers here will sit on inventory rather than give you a good deal. This goes for Safford, Koons, etc. Lindsay is big as well.
Have you looked at Carmax, Carvana or Easterns?
Also, have you looked at Rivian's pre-owned inventory? (I show...
The range of the EDV's was specifically laid out by Amazon when Rivian was designing the vans. It was designed for the average driver to do their route on a single charge. Most delivery drivers drive only 50mi a day, but it's a lot of stop-and-go driving. That's why the vans were designed this way.
From the article:
I don’t believe FHWA has the authority to pause or rescind any aspect of NEVI. The Trump administration is clearly trying to stop or pause programs like NEVI for as long as they can, but I assume lawsuits from states will start soon, and this will go to court and Congress …...
We just had our quad R1T in to repair what appears to be the same issue. In October we had a mobile service for a tire rotation and our tech noticed a leaking hydraulic line on the rear driver side.
We did not have the error on the dash, but the tech warned if enough oil leaked out that we...
That dealer offer does some reasonable.
Before we took delivery of our R1T we sold our 2019 Macan. We checked prices from Carmax, Carvana and then KBB instant cash offer. The KBB came in the highest and it gives you the name of a local dealer that will accept or beat that price. We took it to...
Had our R1T at Gaithersburg last Wednesday. They said 3-weeks if we left it, or wait and they'd fix it same day. We waited. It took all day, but it was done. The SC has more than 150 new R1 vehicles they are preparing for delivery, so they are slammed with end of year prep/delivery right now.
2022, before we took delivery of our R1T, we looked at a Wrangler Rubicon 4xe. Dealers in our area were charging $80k+ for them at the time with huge dealer markups. The prices were crazy ridiculous.
I think these prices on the higher trim Jeeps drove away customers. Now that supply/inventory...
The goal with high speed charging is to pull in and charge when you're state-of-charge is around 20-30% and then disconnect when you hit 75-80% and then hop to the next charger. If you do that, your high speed (Level3) charge sessions will be in the 30-40min range. Great breaks for food, stretch...
Just a little bit of charging info:
Level 1: Standard wall outlet.
Level 2: Your Tesla at home charger or comparable competing home charger
Level 3: Supercharger, RAN, EA, (anywhere from 50kw to 350)
At home, as other have mentioned, on a 60-amp circuit you get 48amps of charging. (80% of the...
