  1. Carbon Dioxide levels inside cabin while using HVAC in Auto mode

While I am not particularly concerned with these elevated CO2 levels, I think the article does do a great job of pointing out yet another flaw in Rivian's auto-climate control mode. Rivian vehicles are significantly behind other manufacturers auto modes when it comes to both keeping a...
  2. Preview of new Energy app in 2025.18 + revived talk of V2V / V2H bi-directional charging

They show screenshots for the "Limit" and "Graph" tab, which are nice. But would be much nicer to see a screenshot of the "Schedule" tab. Hopefully this new version will allow different schedules for different days/locations. That's a feature that many have asked for for years, and seems...
  3. Unlocking the car at home is maddening

Ok, after about a month of carrying the fob at all times, things are definitely better. Still find it annoying that I have to take the fob out of my pocket and press a button on it to get my car to to unlock while I'm at home. And find it VERY annoying when I press that button and there's...
  4. NHTSA Front Suspension Noise/Clunking

You can do that? Like literally just show up at a Rivian SC whenever you feel like and request a tech to ride in your car and they will accommodate your request?
  5. R1T gen 1 fails to lock

I don't have your exact issue. But experience something similar and posted this thread about it. Lots of back and forth discussion that you may want to read. https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/threads/unlocking-the-car-at-home-is-maddening.44027/
  6. Rivian preparing in-house V2H charger

If you're leasing the Rivian(which a lot of people do) then extra cycling of the battery has zero impact on you. You're going to turn the car back in in 3 years and the battery is under warranty the entire time, so if the extra cycling causes some problem then it's not yours to worry about.
  7. Rivian preparing in-house V2H charger

100% Agreed. The technical challenges of V2H/V2G are small, and can be solved very cheaply. But everyone from the grid operators, vehicle manufacturers, electronics makers, electricians, etc. have their hand out and want to extract significant profit from this new market that is aimed squarely...
  8. Almost passed out from acceleration G force?

The Rivian can subject you to around 1G of force during acceleration. Pretty much every car in existence can subject you to 1G of force during heavy braking events. So if you've ever in your life had to brake hard in a car before, then the g-forces that a Rivian subjects you to during...
  9. Unlocking the car at home is maddening

I would agree with this statement. The way it SHOULD work is that proximity unlock should work 100% of the time when you're within say 2 meters, and NEVER work when you're 5 meters away. Unfortunately what we get today is that it works about 95% of the time both when you're 5-10 meters away...
  10. Unlocking the car at home is maddening

Lag? You're saying that you press the unlock button on the FOB and it takes many seconds before the vehicle unlocks? I've just started using the FOB and haven't experienced that yet. I hope not to. Having any lag between pressing a button on a car's key fob and the car executing that button...
  11. Unlocking the car at home is maddening

I'm starting to think that the best solution that requires me to never have to fish anything(phone or FOB) out of my pocket is to simply hang the FOB on a hook in the garage next to my garage door opener button. That way when I leave the house I can just press the garage door opener button to...
  12. Unlocking the car at home is maddening

I have a Pixel 9 Pro. But I also have a Gen1 R1S, so not sure if UWB matters or not.
  13. Unlocking the car at home is maddening

Cursory google searching seems to indicate wristband is no longer available. I don't wear a smart watch. I could be convinced to wear one, but it would have to be android since I don't use an iphone. But I'm curious - how does WaaKey actually help in the "at home with proximity-unlocking OFF"...
  14. Unlocking the car at home is maddening

Agreed, but if I'm already resigned to carrying the fob anyway(due to problems with proximity-unlock set to OFF at home), then paak is fairly pointless.
  15. Unlocking the car at home is maddening

I have a Gen1. So yeah, I can't take advantage of those things you describe are present on Gen2 vehicles. But at least Gen1 comes with a FOB, so I can use that. Digging out the fob from my pocket and pressing it's button seems less cumbersome than pulling out the phone and fumbling to...
  16. Unlocking the car at home is maddening

Not trying to be dismissive, I've just refined my complaint since my original post, which admittedly was a bit of an incoherent rant. My complaint now boils down to - it's absurd that on a $90k vehicle I should ever have to take a phone/fob/keycard out of my pocket to gain access to the...
  17. Unlocking the car at home is maddening

I'd propose that someone pressing the frunk/liftgate button with a phone that's close enough such that the frunk/liftgate open - treat that absolutely indenticaly to how you treat the person pushing the unlock button in the app. You have a lot of follow on questions, and I think the answer to...
  18. Unlocking the car at home is maddening

But apparently not the charge port. It would be way too big of a security concern to allow someone who has access to the frunk and liftgate to also be able to open the charge port And of course it's a huge security concern to allow someone who can open the frunk/liftgage to be allowed to open...
  19. Unlocking the car at home is maddening

Just went out to my car in the driveway at home. Proximity locking is off at home as previously described because if I leave it on my car constantly unlocks itself. Phone is in my pocket, and I: 1. Can open the frunk by pressing the button on the front of the vehicle 2. Can open the liftgate...
  20. Unlocking the car at home is maddening

I'm not sure you've understood what's being discussed here The entire discussion is about unlocking the car when proximity unlocking is disabled. Datapoints about how well PaaK works when proximity unlock is enabled are mostly irrelevant to the discussion.
