semantics.
car was clearly steering, accelerating, decelerating on its on as you can gather from my post. And it clearly didn’t work properly. To brush off the problem and say it’s “less credible” due to semantics is childish.
I was using the full driver plus. Not just highway assist.
Edit: @VSG Not sure what you were trying to differentiate. Per Rivians website, Driver+ is the overarching system. Highway assist is a sub category within the system.
First few weeks into ownership (Dec. 2022) I was using Driver+ and was approaching a sudden slow down on the freeway. Initially my R1S started to slow down, but then suddenly it took off like I had fully pressed the accelerator (I did not) as if there were no cars stopped in front of me, I had...
yes. Per the local “Nextdoor” website. The city received hundreds of letters asking for the city to decline the event, so Rivian canceled. What a slap in the face to Rivian. Spent ~$20M restoring a dilapidated historic building at the center of Laguna Beach only for residence to complain...
I accidentally rolled up the rear windows on the R1S without realizing my little (9 year old brother) had his hand out the window touching the upper part of the door above the window.
I didn’t realize until he screamed and started crying. The window didn’t stop or bounce back down when it...
Our local dealer has 6 of the EV9’s sitting on the lot. They aren’t selling as well off the bat as Kia was expecting. Should see some good deals on them this year. Test drove a top of the line GT trim ~$77k. The fit and finish is better than our R1S. Has much better in cabin tech than the R1S...
Our R1S Launch Edition has been in for service 6 times. Between the parts, labor hours, and loaner vehicles (~2 months worth), Rivian has spent about as much on repairs as we paid with our original launch pricing. Seems like a money pit for Rivian.
We also picked up a Tesla Model Y Performance...
Already had our window trim replaced twice. Continues to peal off. Told us at service they haven’t figured out a long term solution yet. On the one hand we hate to waist Rivian money by continuing to have it fixed. On the other hand it looks terrible and we are worried it will come off...
In addition to replacing the windshield, they removed and replaced the drivers door quarter window glass gasket and balanced and reset the drivers door.
After all of that we still have a whistle in the drivers door on the freeway.
