  1. Software Team Needs a Revamp

Nope can’t tell you that because I‘m dev ops for a Fortune 500 broadcasting and streaming company , one that you probably watch, but you won’t see any bugs or glitches because we do extensive UAT before releases. 👍🏽 No need to debate, Rivian needs to be better with their software testing and...
  2. Software Team Needs a Revamp

Here is the thing, there should be “no” software issues. How many issues do you have with the firmware of your dishwasher or washing machine? I would imagine none. They need to test everything thoroughly before releases, customers should not be part of the debugging process.
  3. Rivian May Incentive Offers: Down Payment COVERED and $3K Trade-In Discount!

I'm right there with you. It would have to be with little to very little money down to essentially downgrade from close to 1000hp down to 600 and some change hp. The think is this, if they're offering these type of deals now in May, they can only get better as they go into June. That's the...
  4. Passenger side window opened by itself at 3:30 am in the rain

When I first picked up the Gen 1 quad, the rear hatch would just open up by itself in the middle of the night. It did this at least 3 times. I would just hard restart the R1S. I'm guessing it was a glitch that was fixed with an update. I also had issues with the windows not rolling all the...
  5. A Beautiful Disaster — Rivian Is Not Ready for Prime Time

I couldn't agree with you more. Unfortunately, this is systemic in customer service on the whole these days. These huge conglomerates just don't want to pay the proper wages for any of their customer service reps, techs, etc. to actually care about the job or giving great customer service...
  6. Range anxiety before purchasing trimotor R1S?

Chiming in on this one. I have a Quad Gen 1, charge to 80% every other day, that gives 250 miles of range. You can do that 150 mile trip, all-day everyday, even if it slipped into 200 mile range. No charging whatsoever while on the round trip. That's in All-Purpose/all wheel drive by the way...
  7. Anyway to disable Youtube?

The issue is more that the kids just jump in before they're buckled in (parent is fussing with groceries or loading backpacks and what not) and they head right to the front screen. If it's locked or disabled that stops.
  8. Anyway to disable Youtube?

It's always frustrating with a post like this that people want to chime in with opinions about how to raise kids and whatnot. It's a very simple ask and it absolutely makes sense. There is no upside for Rivian to keep YT available, they aren't making any money from it, so why would Rivian...
  9. Windshield replacement - Safelite -- aftermarket vs OEM glass?

I had the Rivian tech overlapping the Safelite tech, they shook hands, so to your question, no, I wanted it calibrated immediately. That's really not something I wanted to take a chance with. Like I said, this particular Safelite would have done the calibration along with the replacement. I...
  10. Windshield replacement - Safelite -- aftermarket vs OEM glass?

Just had this issue. Went with Safelite and OEM glass in Nevada. Safelite did have the option to do the calibration if I went into the shop (the tech came out on-site to replace the glass). I opted to have Rivian come out on-site as well ($80) to do the calibration as soon as Safelite was...
  11. Rear screen entertainment, when?

Kids don't care what size the screen is. It's sufficient. Almost $100k for the vehicle, let the screen be an entertainment screen.
  12. Streaming Services Connectivity Issues

I notice this sometimes as well, not to the same degree. It usually correlates with poor cell service, regardless of what the "bars" tell you on the display. Sometimes those bars don't represent the actual signal strength. When it happens I usually do the infotainment reset holding the two...
  13. ‘Big Boost Coming,’ Says Investor About Rivian Stock

If battery prices come down, as they have been, then it changes the price to produce the units. This is an interesting video I watched this week that talks about new battery technology.
  14. Almost 1 Year, Rivian R1S Quad Large Pack is Great | Plenty of Room for Improvement Though

Yes, all and all I love my Rivian. Probably the best vehicle that I've owned. Like I said though, always room for improvement. We didn't talk about the weak ass horn though!! First time I honked it I was embarrassed. It sounds like the horn on a Daewoo. I try not to ever use it. Ha, ha.
  15. Almost 1 Year, Rivian R1S Quad Large Pack is Great | Plenty of Room for Improvement Though

Yeah, the front looks kind of cartoonish to me, but I do like the rest of the vehicle's look. Really like the interior. No complaints about it. Like another poster wrote, it is in that Range Rover category.
  16. Almost 1 Year, Rivian R1S Quad Large Pack is Great | Plenty of Room for Improvement Though

Right there with you. I can't recall the last time I was at a gas station. My kids always like to joke and tell me to pull into the gas pumps and just sit there for a minute to see what people do. They probably don't even know it's an EV. Truly appreciate being able to drive from state to...
  17. Almost 1 Year, Rivian R1S Quad Large Pack is Great | Plenty of Room for Improvement Though

Yup, aware of the seatbelt. Honestly that bugs a bit too, especially when you you're on a large property (not out on the public roads yet), when you're just trying to jockey the vehicle around. How about when you just want to take your jacket off at a stoplight and the frickin' car goes into...
  18. Almost 1 Year, Rivian R1S Quad Large Pack is Great | Plenty of Room for Improvement Though

I hear both of you on appearance of the vehicle, but with me it was totally about utility. It was about having an SUV that was the size of a Honda Pilot, and that it was an EV; period. (When you're at my point in life, having a nice looking vehicle is overrated, especially when you have kids...
