I have worked at a dealership and have friends who still do at various dealerships. Also, now that the EV incentives are going away come Jan 1st be prepared for even more of a loss. If you also have watched any sort of new media, you will have seen that multiple big name auto manufactures have...
that is so inaccurate lol. EV depreciate at a much faster rate than gas powered vehicle and on top of that most dealerships want nothing to do with them. They can barely sell the new EVs they have on their lot.
They didn't replace the bearings. They replaced both halfshafts, and the issue is completely fixed for now.
I have had and fixed cars with bad hub bearings before, and never did any of them make noises like my truck did.
The more the better IMO. If Rivian is to keep growing, they have to get multiple service centers in all states. Having to drive over 2hrs to get a vehicle serviced is crazy where as with any other vehicle, there is typically a dealer within 30 mins
Update #3
My Vehicle is back and so far drives good. Kudos to rivian for quickly getting it towed 3 hours away and getting it back to me within 72hours. Now lets just hope they fixed it correctly this time.
They are on the way to deliver my vehicle back to me today. Should be here by noonish. Supposedly, everything is all fixed up and g2g. That is what they said last time and this happened so I do not have much faith :(
I just don't see why we need to develop our own greeting when we see another person driving a rivian. Jeeps do the wave and motorcycles do the low five wave. If all vehicle owners had a thing, we would all be throwing gang signs every day.
Whenever I see a rivian my reaction is to be like oh...
update #3
here is what Rivian texted me
Good afternoon, I wanted to update you on your vehicle.
The technician has found that the left front axle popped out, which was the metal on metal type noise you were hearing. The wheel speed sensors were getting different readings because of that...
update! just had my half shafts replaced and now My truck with less than 300miles since repair has gone into limp mode. Front drive unit is 100% dead. Truck has no regen and is making all sorts of grinding and clunking noise. Stuck in RWD with no regen and can't change any drive modes...
They only replaced my half shafts and I'm not 300 miles into the repair and no more horrid sounds and my efficiency is improved. Maybe the half shafts were causing some sort of binding or resistance not sure but car does drive better on the butt dyno
