I find the acceleration in the Dual Standard to be more than adequate off the line. Where it really bogs down is with the rear motor disconnect/re-engage. Very clunky. Can't wait to see how quick we eat up tires too with no ability to lock both motors for anything other than highway driving!
Post service update: Had this issue on our ticket (1 of many) Gen2 R1S. Service solution was to ‘reset 12v system’—-so essentially a hard reset. They acknowledged that this was a short term fix and it is a know firmware issue that will need to be resolved in an upcoming OTA update. No timeline...
Sound system is a major downgrade. Getting better, but not ‘premium’ better. Gen2 is a rattle trap. Brought it in for service, fixed about 1/2 of the rattles, couldn’t recreate a horrendous clacking/rattle from AC compressor (despite video and multiple time stamps). Now new rattles are popping...
Added this to our service ticket for Gen 2 R1S. Multiple resets with no change. In service now. Haven’t seen it happen on our Gen1 and it’s not happening on the Gen1 loaner we got. No word yet on potential fixes.
In service now with this issue on the ticket (1 of 8!). They just started working on it today, so we’ll see if they’re able to come up with anything. Certainly seems like it needs a quick release patch!
Buzzing noise and vibration seem normal for the GEN2 heat pump setup. Haven't heard it quite as loud as your video but ours does the same and vibrates the heck out of the steering wheel when its running at 'full speed'. Ours is in service now for a related HVAC compressor issue where it makes a...
No issues on our Gen1. Our Gen2 has been stuck in night mode, no ability to turn on satellite view and erratic zooming with zero control for the past couple weeks. Put in a service ticket to attach to our existing appointment. In service now. Tech indicated it was a known issue.
Yeah unfortunately the damper replacement didn't do much for those noises. Just stopped the car from 'deflating' overnight. Pretty standard across the board for R1 to make a lot of suspension noise on uneven surfaces/cornering. Jounce line took out the squeaky noise on cornering. Still plenty...
Not sure if there was an updated version of the dampers. My two fronts were replaced pretty early on as they were leaking. Our VIN ~15k delivered 12/22. Haven't had any other issues with them since replacement.
Yep, same here. Convinced my wife we needed to swap her car for a GEN2 R1S. Not the experience we were expecting! Still have our GEN1 R1T and it's a much more solid and better built vehicle overall.
Suspension is improved over GEN1 R1S for sure. Rides about the same as our GEN1 T with updated jounce lines and dampers.
Careful what you wish for on range. We're not getting anything close to advertised range on our GEN2 R1S. They have changed the way range is advertised/estimated compared to...
Currently own a pre-price hike Gen1 T and have had a great experience. Zero issues other than taking it in for optional suspension upgrades (TSB's).
Convinced my wife to trade up her car for a Gen2 R1S Standard last month. Car has had many minor annoyance issues, both software and hardware...
Continue to enjoy the Gen1 until the wheels fall off!
Pre-price hike Gen1 turned out to be an amazing deal! Love mine and don't have any plans on trading it for a Gen2.
Recently picked up a Gen2 to replace my wife's car. The Gen2 has not lived up to the high standards our Gen1 has set. Many...
Maybe they're inflating the EPA numbers on Gen 2 but on our Gen 1 large pack we get advertised range.
131 kWh 320mi rated range (on AT tires)----Puts it closer to 2.4 mi/kWh. This is realistic. On our Gen1 R1T the lifetime average is right at 2.35 mi/kWh.
Doesn't add up. With this math the Standard would need to be gettin close to 3.0 average to get the advertised range (~270mi). Don't think that's realistic in any R1 out there.
2.0 on the trip meter. The 148 still sounds low to me. But even assuming that's correct, the rest of the range must be getting drained from the hill climb.
Overall, the standard range LFP just isn't enough for anything other than around town, without making some compromises. We were hoping it...
Same. Day 2 of ownership of our new Gen2 R1S. Wife was late for work while I tried to help her through the various resets.
Had several other failures of ADAS/safety systems prior to the full driver side shutdown.
Needless to say my wife's confidence in the car is none existent at this point...
Around town--as advertised. Great efficiency.
On our routine 130mi trip over the mountains. Can't make it with anything less than 85% start in mild weather and conservative speed/driving. It's a real problem.
Have a Gen1 Quad and recently picked up a 25 Standard. So far not impressed with the LFP performance. Range is not meeting expectations especially compared to the Gen1 Large pack, despite the standard being 'more efficient'. Paper vs reality I suppose. Never experienced range anxiety in our quad...
On paper it all checks out. Reality has been a totally different story.
Only dealing with~3500ft of elevation change.
Showing an average of greater than 2 mi per kWh for entire trip.
Departing from home with 100% going there is mostly downhill and we are easily arrive with 45% remaining. The...
