I was in the same position. I put the crossbars on. You never know when you might need to carry something on the roof, and I like the look better with the crossbars. I also think that they add a bit to the value when you sell your vehicle down the road. I sold the recovery boards.

Apple has been promising something like this since 2023. CarPlay will be the default on cars that don't have a software team. Rivian and Tesla will likely always do better. Rivian needs to support Messages and Podcasts though.
