Sounds like quite the experience! haha
I got several warnings leading up to it shutting down once I was around 0%. Nothing audible if I remember correctly, but an alert would pop up on the mph screen similar to when a song changes. Then, when it shut off, I got an alert that said something like...
Haha thanks! So it was like 11 pm and my options were to wait in my local hopsital's ER for a few hours only to be told it was broke, splinted, and to follow up with an ortho in the morning, or just go home, sleep, and then go see my brother in the AM who is an ortho haha
Everything in terms of electronics worked except the ability to change gears to put it into neutral or car wash mode. But I was still listening to music, opened frunk, charge port etc.
I did call them actually. They answered surprisingly quickly but I quickly realized they couldn't help me. I had a tractor all ready to tow me home the additional 500 yards and could not figure out how to put it in neutral to tow. The guy told me "you can't tow it, you need a tow truck with...
The main reason I didn't go to an ER was just bc it was late and I didn't want to sit in an ER just to be told to go to an ortho the next day. So I went to a walk in ortho this morning. Figured I would be in a little pain but wouldn't really do any additional damage if I just went home and went...
Oh no kidding, I was in turtle mode for a while. I'm not sure how long, but I don't remember it being before 0 or 1 although it could have been. I drove about 10 - 20 mph at the point I hit 0, which was a self imposed limit by me but I'm not sure if the car would have actually gone any faster if...
Once I hit 0 miles I started driving like 20mph which is probably why I got an additional 6 or so miles. But no, I also didn't put it into conserve mode or anything (there were kinda extenuating circumstances that led to this and I wasn't exactly thinking straight).
Figured you guys could have a laugh at my expense (which is fine, because it all worked out - so laugh away). But I ran out of battery for the first time today (and I've only had my Rivian for like 2 months).
Not that I suggest it, and your mileage may vary (pun intended), but I got about 6...
The biggest implementation I want from Apple Maps (and one of the reasons I always used Maps more than Google Maps) is the landmark turn suggestions. Rather than "in one half mile, turn right on to Smith Street", it would say "turn right at the next stop light". It makes things 1,000 times...
