  1. When Rivian Goes to NACS, Will RAN Be Upgraded?

Everyone will have to use an adapter one way or the other for the next decade at a minimum.
  2. Amphenol is First Supercharger adapter to receive UL certification

Amphenol high power connectors are all over EVs. The powerlok series is common for connecting to battery packs, motors, inverters, etc.
  3. Anyone Still Using RAN?

You remember when Elon fired most of the Supercharger team? He obviously doesn't care about them. Tesla has a solution, fire Elon. How about support all the hard working people on RAN team.
  4. Anyone Still Using RAN?

Just a FYI, the RAN that are open to everyone are only two dispensers per power cabinet. So a minimum of 150kW.
  5. RAN Survival and Sustainability

I think it's simple: they need to more rapidly recoup the cost on their investment. They had to hire a business team, real estate team, engineering team (software, firmware, electrical, mechanical, manufacturing), supply chain team, program management team, logistics team. That's before getting...
  6. RAN Survival and Sustainability

Personally, I chose to support RAN, the jobs it created, and Rivian as a whole. And this sign only speaks to the manufacturing team. All of the engineering, software, network support, and field service is all in-house Rivian, in the US.
  7. "Charging speed slower - Warm Plug Detected" Message

Possibly the high power cable connected to the charge port has loosened
  8. "Charging speed slower - Warm Plug Detected" Message

If the truck detects the charge port getting too hot too quickly, it will reduce the charging power to protect itself. This can happen when the cooling system on the charging cable isn't performing well or there is contamination in the charging pins. I'll add that I'd the truck didn't protect...
  9. New Rivian dispensers and non competitive pricing

https://insideevs.com/news/753915/shell-ea-evgo-tesla-cahrging/ Keep in mind RJ started the RAN program at the end of 2019. At the time, unless you had a Tesla, the only option was EA. He understood there had to be reliable charging in order to sell EVs and the Tesla network wasn't open at the...
  10. New RAN pricing?

RAN is cheaper for Rivian owners. Look at pricing for an Open RAN site where it is typically about $0.10/kWh more expensive for non-Rivians.
  11. Rivian preparing in-house V2H charger

As an outside observer, I would say, look at what Rivian is communicating as its priorities to Wall Street. Consider that many engineering resources can be shuffled around within the company in order to hit targets on the priorities.
  12. Rivian preparing in-house V2H charger

I I certainly hope they bring it to market because a couple of my friends are working on it. I don't want them to be out of a job.
  13. Rivian Home Battery Backup V2H - Will it really happen?

The Rivian bi-directional charger has been in development for a couple years now. Hopefully it sees the light of day.
  14. Rivian now charging $.68 per kwh

It's all relative. I just paid about $7 a gallon for regular in Germany a week ago. Europe has been paying $7-$8 a gallon since at least 2007 when I spent a few months working in France.
  15. Normal, IL RAN station is operational

It's actually been up on plugshare for a few weeks! I noticed it takes a few weeks from a site going live to actually showing on plugshare.
  16. Rivian now charging $.68 per kwh

That would be on the cheap side. It's $5.39 down the corner from me.
  17. Long Range EVs - What's Involved

In my Polestar2, it shows the percentage of energy consumed by HVAC. I've never seen more than 10%, but I also live in SoCal. The easiest thing to do to extend range is drive slower as aero drag increases to the square of speed. Any cyclist knows this first-hand.
  18. Does anyone have any updated intel on Rivian V2H status?

It's being worked on. I know a few of the engineers. Timing is confidential of course.
  19. Rivian Awarded NEVI Funding in Colorado

Building everything in-house saves them a lot of money. I imagine they both can leverage the supply chains of the vehicle sides too.
