  1. Will R2 launch lower R1S resale value / market?

Used R1S prices will likely come down significantly when the first batch of leases term out and hit the used market. Not sure when that will be exactly though, maybe sometime in 2027?
  2. Indecision

Gen 2 Dual Max R1S owner for about 7 months. Highly recommend, but we did have a major issue when we picked it up. They took care of it and gave us a loaner while it was being fixed. They then brought the vehicle to us when it was ready so we didn't have to drive back to pick it up. We've only...
  3. Insurance Rates hiked citing 800+ hp for QM R1S

State Farm quoted me $700/6 months for a 2025 R1S Dual /Max. Seems pretty reasonable, a lot better than the Geico quote so I'm glad we switched everything over to State Farm last month.
  4. Only 2 R1S Left in OC/SoCal Area!

Same for NM/Southern Colorado. All R1S are gone! Still about 30 R1T's though.
  5. EPA Filling for additional 2025 models (R1 Refresh) -- Dual Max, All-Terrain Dual Max, Performance Dual Max, and All-Terrain Performance Dual Max

Seems like the improved highway range is due to the aero covers on the new 22" wheels as well as some efficiency gains from making the vehicles lighter, etc.
  6. EPA Filling for additional 2025 models (R1 Refresh) -- Dual Max, All-Terrain Dual Max, Performance Dual Max, and All-Terrain Performance Dual Max

Thanks for posting - that's really valuable info about the significantly better efficiency with 20" AS 275/60/20 tires. Seems like 20" is the way to go, not sure why they ever offered 21" at all. They absolutely should offer 20" with AS tires as an option, and it should be the default/free...
  7. New 2025 R1 22" Wheels?

It looks pretty clear to me that they are the same wheels. See this thread for lots more pictures and discussion of the new wheels: https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/threads/new-r1-refresh-spotted-photos-updated-w-new-wheel-aero-covers-pic.28359/
  8. New 2025 R1 22" Wheels?

These "two designs" appear to be the same wheels with and without the aero covers.
  9. Insurance Rates hiked citing 800+ hp for QM R1S

That sucks, I hope you are able to get better rates elsewhere. It sounds to me like the cost of insuring an new R1S is likely to be on the order of $1000/year more than what it costs to insure a new 4Runner. Even with mostly free electricity from solar panels, that takes a big chunk out of the...
  10. Insurance Rates hiked citing 800+ hp for QM R1S

I've heard similar on just about every insurance company, including Geico. If they all treat their customers poorly in at least some cases, which it seems they do, I'm going with the one that charges the least. And I do like that they (State Farm) have local agents who are very highly rated and...
  11. Insurance Rates hiked citing 800+ hp for QM R1S

I've had Geico for about 30 years and have never found another insurance company that could beat their rates, until now. They quoted me about $1000 for 6 months on a QM R1S - seems inordinately high to me. This is with a bunch of discounts, good driver, no accidents in many years, 2 cars on the...
  12. Does the R2 actually kill Rivian?

I'm one of these for sure. No need for a 3rd row - reserved the R1S Quad motor when it was going to be available with two rows, explore trim, before price hike. I don't really need 4 motors, air suspension, or super fast acceleration. I just want a reliable EV with AWD/4WD that is large enough...
  13. Finally getting an R1S in New Mexico

Makes sense to not wait in your situation, since you'll never have a service center nearby. I saw your post about the rear window exploding, that sucks but I'm glad you can get it fixed without taking it all the way to phoenix. Seems like their glass in general is sub-par. Hope you have no more...
  14. Finally getting an R1S in New Mexico

Thanks for the info, and good to know that it worked out for you. I'm tempted to do the same with a Colorado address, but I may end up just waiting till 2025 when they change the charging port over to NACS and hopefully open a service center here (assuming the rumor ios true!?) Just hoping I can...
  15. Finally getting an R1S in New Mexico

Any updates on timing/location re: rumors of a NM service center? Also for NM residents who have used a CO address to take delivery, did you have to register the vehicle in CO initially or can you register it in NM? Rivian chat was not able to answer either of these questions today. Thanks
  16. Forbes: Rivian’s Happy Predicament: R1S SUV Demand Surges But Wait Can Be Long

Honestly I'm not sure what is where, but the seats are some combination of leather and synthetic leather. I've never seen/touched the Rivian seats in person, but we had a 2021 F350 Lariat for a while and the seats were very nice, super comfortable and looked great - it was hard to tell which...
  17. Forbes: Rivian’s Happy Predicament: R1S SUV Demand Surges But Wait Can Be Long

Lariats have "Leather Trimmed Seats" - definitely not cloth seats.
  18. RIVIAN SUPPORTS PUBLIC LANDS RULE AND INVITES COMMUNITY TO JOIN (Please Sign)

https://www.americanprogress.org/article/what-bidens-proposed-conservation-rule-would-mean-for-americas-most-vulnerable-public-lands/ Excerpt: "The overwhelming majority of these lands—more than 86 percent—lack durable protections from oil and gas leasing, mining, and other extractive...
  19. RIVIAN SUPPORTS PUBLIC LANDS RULE AND INVITES COMMUNITY TO JOIN (Please Sign)

The BLM historically has allowed quite a bit of oil and gas development, mining, and grazing. All of which would definitely qualify as public land that is "messed with". This would actually be a huge shift in their priorities. Sounds like the ranchers are very much against this, I'm sure the oil...
