    The costs are way higher. I'd ballpark the total install cost including hardware at about half a million a site. Then you need to pay for the maintenance team. And the data monitoring of the network and everything data related (servers, communication) isn't free either.

    Exactly. Even charging at home in SoCal, where my super off-peak is $0.35/kWh, local gas cost of about $4.70 for 87oct, my Polestar2 gets an equivalent of 44mpg with my lifetime efficiency of 3.3 miles per kWh. A Camry hybrid would be cheaper to drive on a pure fuel costs basis, ignoring oil...

    This is also one area of improvement that could have been made in his article. Plenty of SUVs than can get 19mpg at 80mph, but none that have 600+ hp and do 0-60 in the 3s or 4s. Edit: my mistake, he does actually address this.

    Exactly, everything David said was accurate. The only mistake he made was not going to the RAN in Vegas.
