After resetting Trip B, the efficiency shown for Trip B is now around 2.7 m/kwh (with only about 20 miles of driving so far). I'm assuming if I reset Trip A the same will happen, but haven't done it yet.
Yes i'm thinking the kwh is off by a factor of 10. I'm not going to add up every charging session, but there's no way we used that much power to drive it ~1500 miles.
Trip odometers were never reset - the mileage shown in the photo (1573.9 miles) is the total mileage on the vehicle and was shown for both Trip A and Trip B on the screen.
I actually just reset the trip B meter - AFTER posting this - to see what would happen, but haven't driven it yet. Trip A...
Just noticed this yesterday, not sure if it's new or if it has been showing this for a while, but this seems about 10X lower than it should be. We've only been driving it for about 5 weeks now but have had 2 software updates in the last week. Has anyone else seen something like this?
Also just...
That is great to hear! A lot of our trips are on mainly on local highways where the speed limit is 60-65. But it sounds like even on the interstates at 70-75 the range is better than I expected.
Yes, we (in the US) can see plenty of Gen 2 vehicles in the shop. In fact we just selected one today and confirmed the config, so we will be hopefully taking delivery in a few weeks. The 20% voucher is being applied and it is a 2025 Gen 2 R1S Dual/Max with AT upgrade.
Thanks for the helpful comments. The improved suspension, heat pump, cameras, and vampire drain are all very good reasons to go with Gen 2. Adaptive Headlights also. I might be willing to pay for the upgraded sound system, would like to hear both before deciding though. I'm not an audiophile so...
There has not been over 2 years for those of us who live in places without a service center. They refused to sell me a vehicle until much later. Now they have offered to sell me a Gen 2 (WHICH IS CHEAPER FOR THEM TO MAKE, AND THEY ARE CHARGING MORE FOR THEM, SO IT BENEFITS RIVIAN AS WELL AS ME -...
I'm not milking anything, just getting ready to buy a Rivian, which they are happy to sell me, at the price they have offered me. Just like you did - twice apparently.
Apparently my (and others') good fortune somehow offends your jealous and petty nature. And no I won't be quiet. Enjoy your...
Dude, whatever. Sure I preordered a Gen 1. Then they told me they won't deliver to my state since they have no service centers here. So I bought another vehicle instead. Then later they said they would deliver here, but still no service center so it's a risk. So I decided to wait a bit to see if...
I guess we need to wait for some actual testing in real world conditions. I'm not concerned about the range for day to day use, just for road tripping where an extra 27 miles (if that is the real difference) might make a difference in some of the remote/rural areas with poor charging...
Thanks all for the feedback. Now thinking it might be worth upgrading to Max pack after all...with 20% voucher it's an additional $5600 instead of $7000, for an additional 90 miles of range (280 vs 370). That's a pretty sizeable 33% bump in range for $5600.
I'm a preorder/voucher holder and have been waiting for the update to pull the trigger on a new 2025 R1S, Dual motor Large pack with AT upgrade.
I'm very happy with most of the updates and I'm pretty hesitant to buy the old version at this point. However, it seems the new Large pack has gotten...
I'm LA silver R1S. I live in NM where they are no longer delivering vehicles anytime soon ("processing estimate"). Jan 2022 preorder. Looking at getting a 4Runner to hold me over till Rivian gets their sh1t together.
Another vote and reservation for 5 seat config. Never need more seats and would have preferred more cargo space or max battery pack. And when sleeping in the vehicle more headroom would be useful.
Agree, we reserved an R1S and have no use for 3rd row seats. Would much prefer additional storage and/or larger battery.
Really pissed at the massive price increase and this is just insult on top of injury.
