Update: Mobile Service guy came to fix it yesterday. He opened up the door panel, found a loose connector, and fixed it in about 30 minutes start to finish. Window is working normally again!
This was my first experience with Rivian mobile service and it was awesome.
Yes, when it is not working neither driver or passenger side switch will work. I think when it is working both of them work. But would need to double-check.
Edit: So i checked it out a bit yesterday. The window was working (ie going up and down) but was not closing all the way - about 1 cm...
Lately the passenger front window will not roll down - sometimes works and sometimes does not. Seems random but hard to say. Also excessive wind noise coming from same window - may be related, perhaps window is not closing all the way sometimes?
EDIT: WINDOW IS DEFINITELY NOT CLOSING ALL THE...
Update: Our R1S was returned to us about a month ago, all issue appear to be fixed after AC and HV Battery repair. We left for almost a month in Europe the day after getting it back and just got back home a couple days ago. So far everything seems to be working well, but we've only driven it a...
I was told by the service manager that a switch in the HV battery was not working, causing battery issues/faults. (Yes, pretty vague but that's about the extent of detail I was able to get out of him and I don't remember everything he said on the phone). Supposedly the actual battery cells were...
Our Gen 2 R1S has been in service since we purchased it a month ago. AC did not work at delivery, compressor was replaced and the HV battery had a problem as well so that is being replaced now. We've been driving a Gen 1 R1S quad since and hopefully will be getting ours back tomorrow. It has...
Update 3 weeks later: They have now replaced the AC compressor; but in the process of post-repair testing they discovered that the HV Battery pack also needs to be replaced. The service manager said the two were likely related but did not know enough to explain exactly what the issue with the...
I did see that thread, however just to be clear, they stated that our issue was a leaking AC compressor which I assume is not the same part as the heat pump.
EDIT: apparently I was mistaken and it may actually be the same issue.
I searched and did not find a "generic" thread on Gen 2 issues so I thought I'd start one.
We took delivery of our Gen 2 2025 R1S Dual/Max on 7/24 at the Colorado Springs Service Center. We live 5 hours away so before driving there I asked for and recieved confirmation that the vehicle had...
Bumping this to see if we can get to 200+ responses.
So far with 160 responses, about 46% report 0 or 1 required service center visit, and 37% report 3 or more. The remaining 17% report 2 visits needed.
As I don't yet have a Rivian and haven't paid that much attention, I don't know which recalls etc could have been done by mobile service. So I'm not going to get super granular here, and just hope that people answer truthfully and follow the instructions to the best of their knowledge/ability...
Hard to know for sure, but there is likely a selection bias where people with more issues are more likely to respond to the poll. On the other hand the forum members may be weighted towards Rivian fans and shareholders who are more likely to cut the company some slack.
So far a total of about 36% are reporting either 1 or 2 service visits required, and another 36% are reporting 3 or more.
Valuable data and will be more accurate/valuable the more people respond. Thanks and keep em coming!
Getting close to 100 responses. So far with 86 responses, 28% are reporting no service center visits in the first year. Thanks to all who have responded so far - and if you haven't, please do!
With 63 responses, NONE is now leading with 30% of respondents reporting no service visits needed in the first year. Better than I expected, will be interesting to see if this holds or improves with more responses...
The purpose of the poll is just to get an idea of what % of R1's have needed to go in to a service center - so if mobile service did not exist, or did not exist in your area, and you needed to get something fixed that required a visit to a service center, that would count.
I'm genuinely...
Thanks for all the feedback, please keep it coming! So far we're at 30 respondents and only 23% have not needed a service visit in the first year. I'd love to get 100+ or even 1000+ responses to get a better idea of what the chances really are...thanks!!!!
