  1. R2 rear suspension has "incredible ride quality and handling" says RJ Scaring with preview photos

We get them traded in regularly, as well as mercedes, so I'll have to look, I can tell you without a doubt porsche still uses them on cars that cost in excess of $100k.
  2. R2 rear suspension has "incredible ride quality and handling" says RJ Scaring with preview photos

Every modern cayenne and macan, including the e-macan utilizes some of these. No doubt BMW and Mercedes do as well
  3. OMG The freaking OG 180kWh Max Pack was actually made!!!!

Because porsche doesn't care what things cost, 800v components are more expensive at this moment in time. Plus nobody does thermal efficiency like Porsche, the Achilles heel of the rivian fast charging is the battery getting too hot, part of that is being 400v and needing so much amperage to get...
  4. 2025 Rivian R1S Pyro Location

Pwr Perhaps, but that doesn't mean it itself is high voltage, or controlling high voltage. Everything that controls a high voltage battery is 12v.
  5. 2025 Rivian R1S Pyro Location

I disagree, the pyrofuse fuse doesn't control high voltage. I've changed dozens of them. It has a small 12v charge controlled by the airbag control unit to sever the 12v connection after the airbags have deployed. The high voltage circuit doesn't need anything like that because it already has...
  6. 2025 Rivian R1S Pyro Location

The Pyro switch just severs the 12v connection, you can bypass it and make it start so you can maneuver it around until you can source one.
  7. 2025 Rivian R1S Pyro Location

That's wild that they restrict the sale of that. A 90 year old grandma can walk in buy one from our parts department on the cars I deal with.
  8. Anyone Still Using RAN?

Not that I can recall, I've driven an ev for so long. Now I definitely have pulled in to a gas station in the past and the pumps weren't working, but refueling takes no time. I refuse to wait for a charger just to wait longer to charge.
  9. Anyone Still Using RAN?

The day I have to wait for a charger is the day I never drive an ev again. That’s unreal
  10. No longer an all Rivian household

I have a 2025 ioniq 5 limited awd, my favorite car ever, I'm a 4 door hatchback guy. If they made an egolf with a normal range I'd own nothing else
  11. Will you convert your R1 reservation into an order or are you reconsidering it?

I'm waiting until I know for certain it's a 400v system, if it is I'm out. I know it's been eluded to, and seemingly confirmed but I'm keeping my hopes high.
  12. Official: Scout EV SUV & Pickup debut w/ Gas Range Extender, 4x4, BOF, Lockers, Sway Bar Disconnect -- All Specs, Wallpapers, Videos

He's mis-speaking by saying you can just put gas in it and drive. Yes you "can" but as someone who works on VW group plug ins, that is the worst thing to do. A plug in is made to be plugged in, if it is constantly recharged by the on board generator the battery will slowly balance down and start...
  13. The Count is tempted (VINFAST)

Id get a Nissan Ariya for the same price or less long before that
  14. Rivian reroute for a out of service charger station

My best advice is to only trust that you have half of what the guess-o-meter shows for mileage before you go anywhere outside of that range, for instance if the vehicle shows 300 miles of range, know you can go half of that- 150 miles under any condition. I always operate under the worst case...
  15. ID4 lease for $149 / month

And they just went back on sale after a months long recall/stop sale, so they are eager to offload. Great car for the money especially in CO
  16. Saying Goodby for now

Strongly suggest a 2019 or newer leaf SL plus, has every option and the biggest battery, it's what I do the vast majority of my daily driving in, I've had two I bought this latest one for 10k a year ago. I sold my rivian a year ago, and canceled my other reservation I was saving for a new build...
