  1. Sirius music big miss

I must be crazy because when I disappear up into the mountains the absolute last thing I want polluting my ear holes is news. Blech! The way I see it, Rivian is doing us a favor. 😂
  2. Sirius music big miss

Yes, I'm aware. I was in sales in a high end car audio shop and made a chunk of money on Sirius & XM subs & installations when they were two separate entities back and kept up with the larger details up until after the merger. It was "Boomer speak" since that's kind of where this topic exists...
  3. Will you convert your R1 reservation into an order or are you reconsidering it?

The only reason I haven't requested a refund is that someone @ Rivian told me directly that they haven't 100% scrapped the fold-flat front seats for the production model. We've basically become a single-issue-buyer since we're onboard w/everything else (for better or for worse) the R2 has to...
  4. R2 using Large Die Castings / Gigacasting - reveals RJ

The point that was made (clearly lost on you) is that y'all wanna gang up on other brands for non-issues but the same thing done to your beloved makes you all sorts of riled up. It was an interesting & intentional exercise that went about the way I thought it would. The tribalism is strong...
  5. R2 using Large Die Castings / Gigacasting - reveals RJ

I quoted your post because it was outlining how oversimplified some people's take on using aluminum is for vehicle production. My post was directed at those in this thread that were bashing Tesla for using aluminum in a way they felt wasn't acceptable. The part in question needs to be able to...
  6. R2 using Large Die Castings / Gigacasting - reveals RJ

Oh, I think I see now. When someone takes something that's a non-issue and uses it to paint a brand in a negative light and question their overall capability it ruffles your jimmies. So long as it's Rivian and not Tesla anyway. But if someone does the same thing to Tesla (as is the case w/ this...
  7. R2 using Large Die Castings / Gigacasting - reveals RJ

Define this "time" that you speak of when the hitch is going to fail. I mean, assign a REAL number to it since it seems to be the primary concern. That hitch, even if used daily at it's capacity, will outlive most other components of that vehicle. It's odd that people are getting their jimmies...
  8. Photo: R2 body built w/ production dies! NACS charge port location = driver's side ?

It's not a debate worth having. It was already settled years ago. It's a net positive for consumers.
  9. Photo: R2 body built w/ production dies! NACS charge port location = driver's side ?

It's smaller, easier to use and has both AC & DC charging in said smaller & easier to use package without a big clunky connector, comparatively speaking. It's also a better design for liquid cooling which is where things are going with the higher charge rates starting a couple years ago. Plus...
  10. Photo: R2 body built w/ production dies! NACS charge port location = driver's side ?

Agreed. Backing into a space is the safer way to do it, objectively. You can see all around you as you back into the space and when exiting the space you're looking forward so you can much more in both directions to make sure someone isn't speeding through a parking lot w/o paying attention...
  11. Photo: R2 body built w/ production dies! NACS charge port location = driver's side ?

Everyone here should want Rivian to use the NACS standard. It's literally now the standard for the US. Rivian even announced they were switching to it, just like everyone else. No idea why some people here seem to think it's still an option at this point but it would be a terrible decision even...
  12. Photo: R2 body built w/ production dies! NACS charge port location = driver's side ?

Not even you know what you're saying now.
  13. Photo: R2 body built w/ production dies! NACS charge port location = driver's side ?

Since when is making a hashtag joke politics? I literally made a joke about wishing cars could be apolitical again. It was a simpler time before people found a way to make EVERYTHING political. It's about the most annoying thing going in America today and forums like this are being actively...
  14. Photo: R2 body built w/ production dies! NACS charge port location = driver's side ?

The vagueness I stated was done intentionally because it's what people are using to turn everything pertaining to cars these days into politics. Thanks for following along and not making things awkward.
  15. Photo: R2 body built w/ production dies! NACS charge port location = driver's side ?

Pointing out obvious politics of another post does not a political post make. But nice try.
  16. Photo: R2 body built w/ production dies! NACS charge port location = driver's side ?

Exactly my thoughts. What reasons exists that would make you actually want CCS over NACS so bad that it becomes a mantra? That's so weird. Why anyone would want a clearly inferior version of the same thing because of some supposed link to someone they think did some thing is beyond me. I just...
  17. Feature "loss" between R1S and R2?

Like I said, it's not just about fitting.
  18. R2 using Large Die Castings / Gigacasting - reveals RJ

Just because videos weren't made doesn't mean the same thing wouldn't happen considering almost all full size pick-up trucks have the same weight rating for their hitch. That's the point. This is stupid because it's meaningless and people like you want to act like it has some sort of value...
