That's pretty annoying.
Fortunately I'm about 10 miles from Nevada, so I can try having it shipped to a Nevada post office or a mailbox store. Or potentially pick one up at the Reno service center. But that's hour away.
I've been trying to buy a Portable Charger (I somehow lost mine, no idea how) and keep getting this error.
So what are we supposed to do to get one in California? Did they give you any solution?
Also it sure would be nice if they had a better error message for this...
Ive had both my fronts replaced under warranty, one of them twice, about a year apart.
But no off roading for me. Just a fair amount of Tahoe potholes.
Yep, I've seen plenty of big 4x4 trucks in the ditch, upside down, etc, because they were taking corners too fast.
Tires do help a lot. But they can only overcome so much speed, and not much really.
I had the Sottozero 3 on a Volvo V60 a few years back and I was pretty unimpressed with them for actual snow performance. They were quite good for dry pavement though. I think their design compromises were a bit more on the side of dry performance on the way to the mountain, vs actual...
This R1T was probably driving too fast, and likely the stock ATs, which I doubt are great in the snow.
Everyone wants to think their vehicle capabilities make all the difference in the snow. That way you can brag about your vehicle being better than someone else's.
But it really comes down...
I had similar and on the day I was supposed to drive it an hour to the Service Center the drivers side front wouldn’t even raise.
I called to see if it was safe to drive and ended up driving it that way.
This was October 2023.
Then October 2024 I had it in to do the AC vibration TSB and they...
slimmer like a skinnier oval?
I guess time will tell but I feel like the head lights and light bar on Rivian’s could end up being iconic and timeless like the headlights on the Porsche 911.
Porsche did change the 911 headlights with the 996 911s (1999-2004 model years). It was not well...
I haven’t had the issue yet but I have a service appointment in 2 weeks and I see they proactively added a 12v battery replacement.
I also saw a Reddit thread with others saying Rivian also did this.
I feel like there are now more Rivian’s than Toyota Tacomas in North Lake Tahoe.
I see several on nearly every single drive I do around here. No one waves anymore.
There was a lot more waving in 2023, but also I didn’t see half a dozen other Rivian’s in a day.
Seems like a decent price when you compare it to this Picnic Basket from Rolls Royce:

I think Gen2 will be wanting 2024.27.30, which also seems to be rolling out currently.
Edit: I don't see any mention of USB ports in the change log: https://riviantrackr.com/2024-27-30/
ElectraFi shows 20 pending updates and RivanTrackr shows 2024.27.1 as public for Gen1 and 2024.27.30 for Gen2 .
I haven't got it yet, but hoping it's soon.
I recently went down this rabbit hole after an experience at the Sundial Bridge in Redding CA where most of the Tesla chargers were ICED.
had a semi polite back and forth with one guy ICEing a spot that ended with him telling me “F* off and mind your own business”.
But I looked into California...
It didn't trigger gear guard when they backed into me. But they were still there so we took photos of their car and license plate. I have a photo of his Drivers License also.
