  1. EV Gas Buddy App

I have 2 Go-To charging networks that I prefer (Charge point and EA) I will open their app individually and then zoom out and check the pricing/availability for each of them and then pick between the 2.. I tend to avoid Flo, EVgo, Loop and the other brands while I can.. Sometimes I find L2...
  2. Disappointing Driver Display

The correct answer IMO is "complications": There are designated hotspots on the screen (4 corners plus sides for example) and then in the main screen you can customize and choose your layout ala: Compass top right Trip/odo bottom right power Left etc etc or have a couple preconfigured layout...
  3. Which Regen Mode is Most Efficient?

I meant the brakes assisting the regen. Not turning the Regen off. I prefer to decouple the two pedals and decide when I want to use the brake pedal myself. Otherwise, I love one pedal driving and would never go back One of my favorite aspects of owning an EV is the fact that I no longer...
  4. Which Regen Mode is Most Efficient?

I once Ascended sequoia, it was around 7,000ft.. It took 40% or so to get up the mountain.. and I only Regenned like 6% on the way down.. I was so disappointed I felt robbed.. I turned off regenerative assistance ever since.
  5. Launch edition is a lot more different than I expected.

I think you are right I just did some more testing The stock scorpions A/Ts are super noisy. Holding the pedal at a neutral position to take any drivetrain noise out of it and those puppies just HOWL. I originally had fomo for going with the 21s and the cost of replacements. But I dunno if I...
  6. Launch edition is a lot more different than I expected.

After 4 months of waiting my turn at the local SC arrived. I dropped my adventure QM R1T on 21's Vin 21XXX off for warranty work and was given a loaner. It's a Launch edition in green on the 20's VIN is a very low 16XX with about 20k miles. I was surprised at the differences I noticed: 1.)...

  8. 2024.19.04 software update now installing! Share your impressions & reviews

I had been checking and checking for update (via LTE) and nothing. I went and tethered my phone to car for mobile hotspot and immediately noticed the Data usage shoot up. after about 2.63 GB it stopped, But I dunno if that was T-mobile cutting me off of tethering, or the update finished DLing...

I wish our trucks showed that it was downloading and staging :(
  10. Someone backed into my R1T in a parking lot, wonder what this will cost to fix?

I'm curious what it will look like after you wash it and a little elbow grease with some scratch remover style compound I think you could get 80-85% of it off.. and it will look decent from 5 feet away until you get it sorted
  11. Real efficiency data for Michelin Defender LTX Platinum 285/60/20 on EV Sportline R1000 wheels vs OEM 21"

Is there a notable weight difference between the Oem combo and the new combo? Rotational inertia and unsprung weight can affect the performance of the vehicle.
  12. Other EVs ruin my trips

On a recent road trip, there was another Rivian owner who plugged into an EA charger and left the S unattended, their car finished charging and they took another 20 mins to come back to their vehicle.. Meanwhile there was a line of cars piling up and standing around while temps were in the...

Mid 40's no claims living in 90802 I'm on Progressive $1000/$1000 deductible It's $1450 for/6 months (My E-tron was $850 last year) but when I shop around it is isn't even close, State farm wanted $3,500 wtf Geico used to be the cheaper one but not anymore and now with this stupid 15 days...
  14. 2024.19.4 Software Update Released => Suspension, Visual Interface, Live Blind Spot Camera, Climate Control, OTA sched, Google Maps Improvements, more

You aren't wrong, many cars draw air through the seat as you say. It is mostly a cost thing: seats that actually blow cold air require Ducting from under the dash down under the carpet and duct into the seats themselves. vs Fans in the seat that just need 12V power which it already has.
  15. New Hampshire to Philadelphia and Back >700 miles round trip. Standard+ battery

On paper: Single motor FWD vs dual motor FWD lighter weight, newer more efficient design, improved thermals You would think that that stuff would equate to real world effeciency improvements Are you driving in conserve mode with air suspension lowered? Or are you towing a barn behind you?
  16. New Hampshire to Philadelphia and Back >700 miles round trip. Standard+ battery

Speed is the main factor.. after 55 is when the Rivian falls off a cliff because of Aero. If you're flying down TX roads at 85 you're definitely going to be draining that battery fast on paper the 315 miles of range out of a 121 Kwh usable battery is 2.6 mi/kwh When I'm driving at city speeds...
  17. A2Z Stellar Adapter Tesla to J-1772 for Destination and Home charging. This adapter literally pays for itself

I Ponder this sometimes, EV's are the new Lightening port vs USB-C battle. We are entering this new era of a world where we have huge amounts of CCS chargers that are now becoming obsolete. We will have Old CCS cars that need NACS Adapters and we will have NEW NACS cars that need CCS...
