After purchasing the Tri R1S (have one) I would have rather waited for the Tri Motor R2 as I do not need the 7 seats and the R1S has an undesirable suspension compared to the R1T.
I believe pikes peak was an R1T with a longer wheel base. The video in referencing was an R1 S and the R1S is far less planted and has much worse suspension, to this date.
I wouldn’t even consider a quad motor R1S because it’s still going to be a really shitty ride compared to the R1T. The R2...
They still have some of those Dune Tri Motors in stock lol...They're trying to squeeze as much out of the current Tri inventory as they can. I also think they had some serious torque vectoring issues with the next gen quad as it was literally driving sideways (prototype) when tested for SUV of...
Update #3
Custom ballistic glass arrived this week and is currently being fitted & installed. Rear "gate" was also installed to add ballistic protection to the rear without compromising the original rear liftgate. Soft/lightweight ballistic panels were also installed in the door panels &...
Lol what a clown. Elon has failed to deliver on most of what he says, including the original roadster price, cybertruck pricing / specs, FSD, many many many other things. GTFO with this nonsense.
Is the ride improvement, matrix headlights, and improved cameras worth a $30k differance between a 2023 demo gen 1 Quad large pack with less than 2k miles. You'd still get 5 years of warranty and 58,000 miles left. A comparable new tri- motor. ascend interior, max pack and all the new bits...
Use your brain and think about it from a product pipeline perspective. They just released the tri motor. They have nothing after the quad until mid 2026 with the R2.
They aren’t going to release another model just a few months after the tri motor.
The Quad won’t be released until Q3-Q4 this...
The speakers themselves are OK it's just the sub is basically useless in the R1S...It's noticeably better in the R1T as it's a smaller cabin and the sub is closer to the driver.
I personally would have preferred the 180 kwh pack over the small 3rd row but I don't have a family that needs the 3rd row. You would still have the same storage space (likely) when folding down the 3rd row as you would with the larger battery so it would have been ideal for me. Assuming similar...
R2 isn't meant to be an economy vehicle. Sure they want it to be affordable compared to similar vehicles in the market segment, but they aren't looking for this to be a $25,000 vehicle...
They have said ad nauseam that choice is important and right now there aren't many compelling choices for...
Not sure if it was intentional, I’m guessing so, Maximus is RJ’s son’s name. He said he was very happy about the naming of the next gen R2 motors in the investor day presentation where he mentioned it was his son’s name. This was a 3 hour 45 minute event that can be viewed on YouTube.
