Twice now since last Thursday this has occurred.
Was planning on a big trip with charging stops Friday. Set the truck to 95% in the truck before plugging in for the night. Went to leave on Friday and it was 69% (set to 70%). Thought maybe I made a mistake.
Got home from a bunch of holiday...
I tow to motorcycle race tracks a lot during the spring/summer/fall. The longest tow I make is to New York Safety Track in Jefferson NY near Oneonta NY from North Central MA, right on the NH border. This time, I had HA running capturing data from my trip.
Shows me going up over the Green...
I had purchased all the necessary adaptors to get my Honda EU300i connected to my truck for charging, so I figured I'd try it out before I actually needed to use it.
Hooked up the NEMA L5-30P to TT-30R adaptor to the generator, then plugged that into the TT-30P to NEMA 14-50R adaptor, then...
Been rocking a 7x14 aluminum enclosed V-Nose for the last 5 years or so. It tows great behind the Rivian. Usually get about 1.2mi/kwh or so, less if I'm pushing highway speeds the whole time. Probably 3500-4k lbs with motorcycles and all my gear in there. Homemade fold down twin bed...
Was upgrading my home Wifi system and the new mesh system does not allow for a dedicated 2.4Ghz SSID, so I figured it was time to see if that 10/100 ethernet port inside the charger works.
Sure enough, it does. Still says it's connected to wireless network in the app, but it never actually...
My charging pad always worked pretty well since I got the truck in June. Now, nothing. I can't recall if it worked directly after the newest update, but wondering if anyone else had a failure of their charging pad, and what it took to fix it.
I've already restarted my phone (which works on...
READ THE MANUAL FIRST.
I did a 5 tire rotation yesterday, and only AFTER slightly scratching the rim on the threaded shaft that clamps down the whole spare tire/jack assembly did I read the manual and see that it is supposed to come out before you remove the wheel.
Don't be like me. Read the...
Our effective electricity rates (supply + all other charges) was approximately $.28/kWh here in New England on National Grid until November 1st, when it went up 64% (thanks Putin...).
I work remotely 4 out of 5 days a week, but have a 160 mile round trip commute one day a week. Use about 6% a...
Going the DIY route for wash/claybar/polish/ceramic.
Only question I have is what to do with the factory installed PPF on the gear tunnel doors and directly behind the front wheels. Do I just not polish them? Avoid with ceramic?
What is the PPF is lifting a little on the edge of the gear...
Got my truck back from service yesterday. Chelsea MA SC did a great job (as always).
Plugged it in when I got home. Started charging right away even though I have it on schedule to charge from 10:30pm-7:30am whenever I'm home. Schedule says "Paused: Away from home".
Browse over to the Truck...
I have a strange situation with my truck and was wondering if any of you experience the same thing.
How many button pushes does it take to open the gear tunnel doors when you walk up to the truck? Sometimes it's just one, sometimes it's 10-15 seconds of pushing before it responds. And even if I...
Picked my R1T up from a service appointment today and this little gem was sitting there ready to go. Rep from Rivian confirmed it was their first customer delivery at this SC.
Someone is getting a nice treat soon!
Trip to PA last week with the family and extended family. Rivian did great as a road trip vehicle for all 900 miles.
Rest of the family isn't "vehicle centric" like I am. So naturally a few people show up with cars that have way underinflated tires. Prius with 13 PSI in a front tire (after...
Since the last software update, my truck has been exhibiting strange behavior.
I've peeked out at it late at night to find the screens and all dome lights on in the driveway. I did not have my phone with me at the time. Went out there and the dash screen had the door open icon, even though all...
https://www.nationalgridus.com/Charge-Smart-MA#model-list
Fill out the waitlist form. Adding a whole bunch of Rivians to the waitlist should get us bumped up in urgency for getting this EV off-peak charging discount setup. Sure would be nice to save $.05/kWh for charging during off peak times...
Put it through it's paces towing a 4k lb trailer 200 miles each way already. And commuting. And showing it off.
Current issues:
1. Clunking/tock in the drivetrain on each side up front. Occurs when transitioning from on power to off, or vice versa. Only started after commuting 75 miles each...
There is a good 2-3" of bare painted metal on the bottom of the door frame before the Rivian logo'd plastic covers. I've already gotten a small paint scratch on this area from someone getting into the truck with a small pebble stuck to their shoe. People end up using this area of the door sill...
New to EV's, so apologies if this is common knowledge.
Getting my R1T later this week, and have a trip 1 week later where I'll be towing and will need to charge on the trip in upstate NY (first charge near Albany).
ABRP gives me a few options for charging, mostly all EA chargers.
There is...
Does anyone know of plans for a bed extender, either Rivian branded (hopefully) or aftermarket in the works for the R1T?
For times I don't want to tow the trailer and just transport a single motorcycle, this soft of thing is super nice to have with such a short bed, especially when it hinges...
With being assigned a guide finally (even though she's unresponsive), I figured I should get myself setup on a charging spot since I have the Rivian wall charger on order along with the truck.
200amp service in the house, with space on the panel. This is actually less amperage than my...
